The guys probably can't help with this one!

I find that the hardest part of dressing is getting on the bra. I use a dressing stick and need front hooking bras, but I'm wondering if any of you have found a bra that is easier to get on. I HATE going without one! The OTs couldn't help...

Thanks, Kathy

Hey, the guys response is just go without.

I'm so kidding. I'm sorry. Now I can't stop laughing...That would be so silly....

I'm not right. I apologize...

Maidenform sweet nothings are front closing, soft, and fairly easy to get on. Unfortunately, they are hard to find since they've discontinued them. Sometimes I can find them on the web .

I have to wear one...the only advantage to putting on a few pounds is bigger boobs...but there are days (esp. when it is 100 degrees out) that I wish I had none. But I wear regualr under wire bras and just hook them in front and then turn them around and slip my arms in. You could try a sports bra...most of them just pull on over your head...no hooks at all. WalMart carries several kinds for or less. You dont get any lift, but you will get very good support even from an inexpensive Hanes one.

I do the hook in the front and turn around thing too. LoL A lot of times I leave the straps loose, so that it's easy to spin and get my arms through, and I'll just have my hunny tighten them for me. :)Hook and turn....that's what i do to.
it stinks b/c it stretches out the bra and i end up having to replace them
quicker.
Just another joy of RA....

there are a couple of leisure bras that actually provide enough support, and are comfy.

I too do the 4th grader hook and turn, but sometimes it is so hard on the wrists, isn't it?

I often wear the sports bra. Try some of those tank tops with the built in bras. If it is too cool where you live, layer it with another shirt.

Thanks, gals,

Glad to know it's not just me who hates the bra issue! I'll check out the sport models....

Kathy

Oh I LOOOOVVVEEEE the tanks w/built in bras! They're great. I don't have problems with my wrists and turning the bra anymore, I learned to hook it around my belly down low, then pull it up. Haha what a goofy sight that must be. But it works!! And yeah, they strech out but I like my comfort..

I do the hook in front and turn thing. Can be rather painful to fingers wrists and elbows, but I can almost always do it for myself. It's good for self esteem.

I hate bras but I need one to look good, so there it is.

I thought getting the sports bra would be great.   Well until I got home and hurt myself putting it on!

You do the research, I'll slap my name on it and sell it.

Yeah?

Bra??  Whats that?

Hi

I was reading this topic and thought I would butt in and mention that they do have Bra's for us women who have arthritis.  I wear them most of the time.  I also wear a front hook bra with a flex back. Much more comfortable than a single back hook bra as the day progresses.

Waddles you really are a smart cookie! That Arthritis Front Closure is just the ticket, you don't have to pinch - it has a loop thing that lets you use more of your hand. I wish had one of those when I had elbow surgery or when my thumbs were just horrid!

THANKS!!!

Thanks for the link!  Wowzers!   Now if I could find good comfortable shoes!Shoes are a problem!!!  They must look good, feel good... hey, my slippers are the ticket!  Or my Uggs!!

Those bras are awesome!  I unfortuantely need to wear a bra when I go out.

I agree with slippers!  I even drive my daughter to school wearing them!  I have to wear comfortable shoes because of my cruddy knee.  When I wear shoes and have a problem getting them on I use a shoe horn and kids or husband to help me tie them.  I HAVE to wear boots sometimes in the winter since I live where it snows and I buy them a size too big to ease slipping them over 2 pairs of socks.

Try www.footsmart.com for shoes. They have all kinds of sizes and types even snow boots.

I just love Merrells because they have super cushioning and arch support too. They have a sporty look rather than an orthopedic device look
