Enbril Woes | Arthritis Information

I had a little nausea the last week of August...no big deal...I thought. I injected my Enbril on the 31st of Aug and within hours I was soooo sick. I had an upper respiratory infection and within about 4 hours of injecting I thought I was going to go to the ER. I KNOW they tell you not to take the med if you have an infection but who knew??

Please listen to your body..like I did not. I am stll a little hoarse and today is the 18th. I was able to inject myself yesterday...finally and I am back to square one. After being virtually pain free for 6 months it is all back. How quickly we forget about the pain.

Hopefully the Enbril will kick in again.

BE CAREFUL ON THESE BIOLOGICS!!

I had a simular experience this time last year and ended up on three different antibiotics after a horrible sinus infection and bronchitis. They finally did chest x-rays because they thought I had pheumonia! Luckily it wasn't but the antibiotics weren't strong enough. It took three different kinds as well as a course of predisone before I finally recovered.

In the course of the illness I pulled a muscle in my back from coughing so hard; add to that the fact that I didn't take my meds for a month and I can honestly say it was HORRIBLE!!

One thing it showed me though is that they aren't kidding when they recommend going off your meds due to infection. I'd had a sinus infection the month before and took my Humira and MTX before I was completely well. I was in a rush to get back on my meds before it went too long; but I only ended up extending that time by at least 3. I certainly wasn't worth it.

Don't get me wrong; don't panic and go off your meds for every little sniffle or sneeze; but be careful with infection. The warnings are there for a reason. I've learned first hand.

It took me several months to get back to the place I was before the illness. It was certainly what is considered a "Set Back"

Hope you're feeling better soon Gene. Continue to take it easy as you recover.

Thanks Lovie,

I too had to do 2 different antibiotics in order to knock this bug out of me. Nothing seemed strong enough.

Glad to hear that I am not alone.

Gena
