Drug Combination | Arthritis Information

Can anyone tell me if they are taking the following combination of drugs and if they have had any success in slowing progression down of the disease?  I am taking Methotrexate (4 pills per week), Plaquenil (2 a day), Prednisone (1 1/2 a day...this won't be long term), Folic Acid and lastly a pain med called Etodolac (2 per day).  I have been taking Plaquenil only for 3 months without any noticeable help so my RA started me on the Methotrexate as well.  I hate taking all of this stuff, but I'm hopeful it will slow the progression down.

All of those drugs help individually and in combination they should help you more. Best wishes.

Hi,

I was on the mtx and plaquenil, with prednisone and mobic, they didn't do too well for me, i still take mtx, 20mg(8) weekly, folic acid, mobic, methylprednisolone, vicoden, fioricet, lexapro, lamictal, atarax, provigil, protonix, and of course the remicade infusions.  I am actually feeling almost normal again except for  being a walking drug store.  Be careful of the plaquenil, especially if they are not ordering special eye exams as it can damage your eyesight.  If you don't know what any of the drugs I listed are for, just ask.  Good Luck.
