arthritis free for life? | Arthritis Information

I saw on the internet an ebook for sale that claims to rid you of arthritis in one month. Seem like a scam ? If not, i put my name down for it!

For people with Gout, that could be a possibility since that can be completely controlled by diet. But for RA....well, between here and the other boards I am on, and our network of hundreds of RA patients online, someone or their doctor would have heard of the "CuRe" for RA.  The Arthritis Foundation would let us know about it too. It is a scam, I wonder what they are selling it for...how much money are they trying to get from poor hopefuls???

Just read this thread with interest, and it quickly turned into real

Then I saw an ad on the left of this page offering a similar 'miracle cure'. I looked at the web site, and decided to try something, seeing as they have a link inviting anyone to "Ask us any questions, or just get support as we know how tough RA pain is" , or words to that effect (I thought to myself, "Not if you don't suffer from it personally, you don't!!"), I wrote them an email!

Anyway - thought I'd share my e-mail to them with you all, and when (or more likely IF) I get a repsonse, I'll share that too!

Here's my email message:

Hi,

Just read your web page and I would REALLY like to believe that what you say is true. However, I'm smarter than that, and know that if there were such a miracle cure for any disease, the world would know about it, patients would be sharing the news (sorry  but anyone can make up "testimonials" and put them on a web site), and Doctors would be prescribing it.

If your products are as sure fire as you claim them to be - then why not offer people free samples at first? This would have to be enough to take effect, of course.

If it works (and your site claims it will);  you'll not only have a customer for life for each successful case - you'll have the best FREE advertising and referral mechanism available. Someone who would pass the information along to fellow sufferers to help them, too! Anyone who endures the excruciating pain of  RA is only too happy to pass along effective help to other sufferers.

As a business, you can surely appreciate what a very small investment this would be when you consider the potential for repeat and "word of mouth" business!

I look forward to your response!

I've come across many different "cures" for arthritis...including someone who suggested drinking my own urine, LOL. There are some truly alternative therapies out there. I read an article recently about different "alternative therapies" and what makes them alternative. The reason they are "alternative" is because they have no substantiated medical evidence that the "therapies" actually work. Therefore, the "therapies" are not written up in medical literature/journals as being effective. If they WERE proven to be effective (other than just antectodal remarks of healing), then they would no longer be considered "alternative" therapies, but would become mainstream and used by board certified, M.D.'s. I'm sure there are many who refute this and that's ok. If I came across some type of alternative therapy that I believe worked for me, I'd be spreading the news very loudly in an attempt to help others. The ones that bother me are those trying to make a quick buck on total quackery.

BOY! They were quick!

Here's their answer:

Hi Jemm,

unfortunately we don't offer any samples of our products, but our cream will be the answer to your prayers. We have helped thousands of people all over the world get rid of there joint pain/arthritis. Our cream works as follows:

1) it stops the pain without any odor or messy residue

2) gets right to the source of the pain to help rebuild damaged cartilage

3) has a long term lasting affect

Plus every order comes with a 100% money back guarantee, so you have nothing to lose to try. I recommend you purchase two jars and get the discount along with the Free Joint Support Supplements & Theurapeutic Bath Salts during this special we are running.

So, pretty much what I expected. Money back guarantees are usually cost prohibitive in that it can often cost as much to return the item to get your refund, as you will GET back in refund (or it is so close, it's not worth the bother). But if you don't return it, they won't refund you - so not much of a guarantee really - just 'sounds' good!

Anyway - I went back to the site and clicked on a live online help thingy and asked them about the refund process - yes you have to return the product, but surprise surprise, she couldn't tell me whether or not they cover shipping/handling cost's - but if I gave her my inside leg measurement, she could have someone contact me, who could! pfffffft!  I think not!

Hmm, I guess I am just too new to this, or too gulliable! Hmph, back to the drawing board! Glad I came here before throwing away more money, thanks luvlies xThe thing to remember about alternate therapies though, is that in order to be FDA approved, and have doc backing and all that legal hub-bub, you have to have the money to pay people to test it the legal ways. I'm willing to say that somewhere out there, someone has an alterante therapy that may work on hundreds of people, or thousands. But because of funding, they can't get the backing that they need. It's hard to get people to listen to your ideas when you're just a little fish in a big pond. And it's NOT always doctors and research facilities that come up with cures. I remember a story back in the 80s....I can't remember what the little boy had, but it was severe...his parents were SO upset that no one could cure him, that they did it themselves. No joke. And their therapy is still used for his disease today. So it could be out there. Just be careful. Someone who's really wanting to help, will HELP and not just take your money. Just my two cents!

I've been at this for a long time. My sister is into alternative theropies and truely believes in natural healing including acupuncture (Surely spelled wrong) and a STRONG believer in diets.

After a while I get a little aggrevated by her suggestions and she in return gets a little aggrevated that I won't try her suggestions.

Thing is; her suggestions would require me to go off my meds which I know for a fact is not in my best interest. I've been there and it was truely a huge mistake that cost he a horrible set back.

Eventually you have to just go with your gut. If you want to try things.....go ahead. You be the judge. Only you can know what's right for you and what works and what doesn't.

The main things people that do not have RA seem to not understand is that RA is a distructive disease and the more time you waist trying different treatments and gimics the more time you allow to pass and the more damage developes. The damage I'm concerned about can not be reversed later and often by the time you realize it's happening....it too late.

I may not be a doctor and you can tell by my spelling and grammer I'm no real scholar; but I am smart enough to know that RA despite some peoples opinion of it; is nothing to fool around with. You can live a long, happy life if you manage your treatment properly. I guess it's up to the individual to decide what defines proper treatment.

That being said; I have bought some spray type stuff that helps with my back and other joint pain as well.....but it's certainly no cure. Often creams and spray will work; but stuff like that should be use in conjuction with your traditional medication.....not instead of.

We don't mean to be little you in anyway Tam. You asked a honest question.....we we've given you our honest OPINIONS. None of us are doctors. We're only relaying what experience has taught us.....and I've found it's better than the majority of things you'll learn in the RD's office or certainly by reading articles written by people that have never one day suffered from RA or any form of arthritis.

Good Luck to you Sweetie.

That is why you have to research.  Where I agree that book is not worth the powder,  I do not agree that a body cannot be turned around with the proper help.

Short story here, I had a friend, late 50's, Ra, went thru his disease in 15 yrs, took ALL the traditional, experimental thearpies.  Had about 5 differant Rh drs.  The last place the disease hit him was his spine particularily his neck to make it unstable.  His last visit to his dr, after he was told he was going to be taken off all the experimental lists for help , Jim asked his with all the funding and research why didn't they find a cure??  The dr told him that it would be along time before they found a cure.  They are coming up with new drugs they just didn't work for him.  I don't have many friends they do work for.  HOWEVER,  some things do work.  If you change your body around and give it a chance just perhaps you will see less pain and a better day like my friends and I do.  I pray that some of you listen.

Arthritis Formula, Anti inflammatory neck, back, muscle relief, M3, Constitutional Enhancer.  No pain, no side effects.  Awesome.  Take care food for thought.  Peggy
