I am a nurse and am very active-can walk for miles, just don't ask me to sit and then get up and try to walk with ease-very painful. any suggestions will be appreciated. thanks
Hi!
I'm a nurse too!
Pmr since 12/05. On prednisone 19mg/d and methotrexate 10mg/wk.
The prednisone has helped me continue functioning fairly well.

Best PMR education site I've found is: from the Cleveland Clinic:

Hi,
I hesitate to even bring this up as I don't want it to seem like I am posting for commercial gain. If you look back at some of the earliest messages you will see that I have posted about my own problems with PMR and Prednisone. Anyway, on June 1st of this year I took my last dose of Prednisone and dealt with the pain. I was miserable but had gotten to the point that I felt prednisone was going to ruin my life and my health. At the beginning of August, I had told my mom that if this was my quality of life I didn't know if I wanted to continue on. Through the course of families talking a cousin begged me to try her herbalife products. I was upset that she was so convinced it would help as I was convinced once again it would be false hope. Needless to say, I was so impressed with my results I became a distributor. I just feel so much healthier and the weight loss is an added bonus. It might be worth a try for some of you. If you have any questions about it or anything you can certainly send me a message. You don't have to feel like you have to buy these products from me but they are definitely worth trying. I wish I could express truely how much they have helped me. I am hoping with this proper nutrition program that I will be able to stay off the prednisone forever and that I will become so healthy that the PMR will not return. I really believe that I am on the right track. I still have some pain and stiffness and there are a few things that I still cannot do but I am getting better everyday. I wish everyone a speedy recovery and one day maybe we all can be pain free and prednisone free. I am sorry if I should not have posted about the Herbalife products but when I saw the topic other alternatives I thought perhaps it would be ok.
Take care.........
