I'VE SUDDENLY HAVE DEVELOPED PAIN WHERE THE ACHILLES TENDON ATTACHES TO THE HEEL OF MY FOOT, AND ALSO I HAVE SOME NEW PAIN IN MY RIGHT ELBOW WITH NO SWELLING.

I WONT BE SEEING MY DOC FOR A FEW MONTHS SO I'M WONDERING IF ANY OF YOU HAVE ANY PAIN IN THOSE LOCATIONS.

AS OF NOW IM ONLY ON MTX.

Donn

This is where my RA first started was the upper back of my heel, it was a burning, stiff, OMG I can't bend my foot pain, sound familiar?

I just started to get the pain in my left elbow a few weeks ago, the same elbow that a developed a very lovely attractive NODULE

My RD has only told me that the burning pain is damage actually being done and that it is just part of the RA

Could you get into your Doc sooner?  Maybe call and talk to the advice nurse?

Hugs Jen

Donn, the pain in the elbow without swelling is possibly being caused by the muscle surrounding the elbow joint becoming inflamed, which is pressing on the Ulnar nerve which runs right through this muscle. I,ve had a lot of problems with my elbows over the years from RA, and finally had an MRI done on them. This showed up the inflammation.

Have you noticed any slight bruising around the elbow? Normally when my elbows are playing up, i get a little bruising around them, deep down in the skin, not that noticable.

Jen, thats interesting what your Doc mentioned about the burning pain being damage being done. I,ve had that burning sensation around my left achilles for the last few weeks, must mention it to my Rheumy in 2 weeks time. Cheers...

THANKS FOR THE REPLIES. THIS IS A GREAT SITE!!! IT SEEMS LIKE THERE'S ALWAYS SOMEONE HERE THAT HAS EXPERIENCED THE SURPRISES THAT RA LIKES TO THROW AT ME. I SAW MY GP TODAY BECAUSE I HAVE BRONCHITIS, AND I MENTIONED THE PAIN I HAD IN THE ACHILLES TENDON. HE TOLD ME I'D BETTER SEE THE RHEUMY ABOUT THAT. SOOOOOO I'M GOING TO GIVE HIM A CALL TODAY AND HEAR WHAT WORDS OF WISDOM HE MAY HAVE.

YOU ALL HAVE A GOOD DAY AND MANY PAIN FREE TIMES!
