First Dr visit tomorrow | Arthritis Information

Hi everyone....I have my first appt. tomorrow w/the rheumatologist. I just found out this past Mon that I tested positive for RF. Are there any questions I should ask?  I've tried to read up on everything but I'm sure ,after I leave, I'll think of something. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks ,

Donna

Hi again Donna!

Well, you should ask about bone density....but you may not need one if you haven't been on pred long term, be menopausal or have had a hysterectomy...or someother problem that would make you have weak bones.

I would write everything down that you want to ask him and go through each question and if you need to write the answer down.  RD's usually allow 45min to 1hr for the first visit.  He will take alot of info about you and most likely do a full exam too (at least mine did).

Good luck tomorrow!! Let us know how it goes!

If you have additional concerns, you can always folo up with your doc after the appt, usually in a 15-min. slot. Sounds like you've done your homework.  My biggest worry is always side effects, so I'm always sure to ask about those.  Also, you might ask about dosing schedules ... when to expect results ... what signs/warnings you'll have if you're having a bad reaction to a med .... lab work scheduling .... any vits/mins to take or not to take....

Godspeed.  Let us know how it goes for you!
