OT: Board Moderators? | Arthritis Information

Share

I'm a newbie here

So is this the Forum equivalent of the Ol' West? No sheriff in town?

Truth is; there seems to have been some changes to the board that could only be done by admins; but they stay behind the scenes....no one knows who they are or how to reach them.

It's a cool place to hang out though provided you're willing to over look the occation trolls and snake oil pushers.

There's far more of us than there are of them.....stick around; you might like it.

We do have the trolls and snakeoil salesmen and there's not much we can do about it but plain ignore them. Seems they go away if we pretend we didn't see them.

I have a lot of friends here and like the topics we talk about so I keep coming back. But there are also some well-moderated boards you might also want to check out. Many of us go to more than one because the people and topics are different.

www.rasushi.com

www.4RAtalk.com

www.RAconnections.com

rasushi keeps a full list of different boards and was developed simply because we wanted a safe place to play.

But a lot of new people do come here, so we try and continue to stay around so that questions can be answered.

Hi There and welcome.  Deanna is right, we frequent other boards and I have one more to add.  And, it does have a moderator by the name of LuAnn.

Aha! The deputies!

Thanks so much for the forum addys. I've been poking around looking for a (DrugCo. independent) board, with no luck till I remembered this site mentioned on a arthritis listserv.

Now I'm off to the saloon for a tall sassparilla.

As Lovie and Deanna said, we just ignore anything we don't like.

The correct address for RASUSHI is: (a nice place)

If you come over to Rheuma Has It and sign in, I have to activate you before you can post.  It shouldn't take long though, I seem glued to my chair recently.

LuAnn38989.726724537Also if you go to RAsushi and look under the forum "The Board Room" , I have links to about 10 different RA message boards. You can bookmark them so if and when this one crashes again you wont lose touch with everyone.I love it we have no moderators.  Gives us the ability to moderate ourselves.  If we don't like a topic, we can ignore it.  If you are in pain and in the mood for an argument - that is fine with me also.  Easy enough to ignore.  I love AI.Totally agree with you Roxy

You have the choice to read what you want. Freedom.

AI was my orginal "Home Site" so I have a hard time giving it up. AND; you do meet more new people here than any of the other sites.

Not sure why I would waste my time with this....But I can't help but wonder...Perhaps you are the "troll" you continue to refer to...certainly makes me wonder after checking out this initial post from you.

OMG, it is ALIVE!

Huh? I am lost. Probably lack of carbohydrates in my system that is making me soo... what is it called?.... oh yeah.... lost! Why did we drag up a 6 month old post? I'm so confused :( I'm with Roxy on this - I like this board & think we are old enough to cope without moderators.   There must be a Pollyanna.com for those who dont like the venting. The
advertisers, snake oil salesmen etc are best handled by ignoring them. This site is always interesting and while there is the occasional nut bar that visits that is life.
There are heaps of good people here so go AI.What's Pollyanna? O.o Shows my age Katie - Pollyanna was a film made in the 60s I think, it starred the British actress Hayley Mills & as Pollyanna it was her ambition in life to make everyone happy - never saw the bad in anyone. It was a good film in the 60s but is probably dated and old fashioned now, or we are more cynical maybe.Oooooohhhhhhhh............kay. Hahahaha I hate being 23 sometimes.....
