Question for most of you out there. While I was on Methotrexate, I assume I was exposed to TB. Was getting approval for Remicade and had to have TB test....it was positive! I have been exposed to the germ, not active TB. I have been on the TB medication INH for 8 of my 9 months when my meds will be complete. I would advise anyone even taking Methotrexate to have a TB test! I don't know when in my life I was exposed to TB but if you have been exposed, it can activate TB by taking Methotrexate, an immune suppresant. Dr's should test for TB before Methotrexate, not just Remicade, Embrel or Humira. People have died from TB after exposure to these drugs because it activates the disease! My DR will not let me take Remicade, Enbral or Humira because of this. I am currently on Sulfazalazine, Mobic and Prednisone. TB is reemerging in this country and this Posing a danger to all of us on immune suppressant drugs. Get a TB test!!! KARENKaren, thank you for the info! I truly appreciate it!
