I need a haircut!

I am going to California in a couple of weeks and we are going to be going to nice restaurants and nice places and I need to look up to par.

But... my hair is so thin on top it is hard to want to get my haircut! I know once I get my haircut, which my hair is to the middle of my shoulder blades now, that the top of my head might not look so thinned out. But... I never get a haircut I like... ONLY 1 TIME!! And that was years ago and then I did not even pick that hair style the lady just gave it to me LMAO!

Where is a good place to go to get a haircut that the person cutting your hair will help make your hair look it's best and not just to give you a haircut?

I would go to a salon.  Avoid places like Fantastic Sam's and Cost Cutters.  I have really long curly hair and pay the extra money for a good cut and style every 8-10 weeks.  Look thru magazine for hair styles that you feel might be good for you and take those pictures in with you.  They will tell you if that particular style is best suited for your hair type and your face type.  They make the good money to make you look good!  I always feel better about myself when I get my haircut and that is worth the money to me.

Have a lot of fun on your trip!

Talk to at least 3 women friends who's hair you admire. Find out where they get their hair done.

Make an appointment for a consultation, usually these are free, though you may have to pay a few bucks. Go in to just talk about your hair, your medical issues, hair loss, breakage etc, and ask what the hairstylist suggests in terms of a cut  to accent your good features.

I have very fine thin fragile hair and couldnt manage without my hairstylist. shes an angel.

I agree, look through magazines and be honest with the girl doing the cutting.  Tell her your problems and ask her whats the best way to style the hair you do have.  I've always found it woorth the extra mmoney to go to a good salon over a cheaper chain.

You should post us before and after pictures!!! I have always had thin, fine hair and I have been with the same stylist for years.  She and I have worked together to get the most out of my hair and we have found that short, layered hair is the best. It makes the top look thicker.  And, I use Roux Tween-Time color stick.  At first I used it to touch up the color around my face and then I discovered that it made my hair seem so much thicker!  (thrill, thrill) It is a wax based product and is totally harmless to your hair and it comes in different colors.  And it is not expensive and you only need a little to get results.  I will never be without it.  I am so happy to share this with my thin, fine haired friends and I hope it works for you.  Most salons have it, but I buy mine at Sally's which I think is a national chain. Please keep us posted Joonie and I hope that you have a great trip.

Luv, N&T

Thanks for the advice and all!

I just know... I need a haircut. I think my hair is stretched on top from having my hair up in ponytails to keep the hair away from my face and neck as it has been hot and I hate to have my hair on me when I am sweating.

I will see what salon I can find to cut my hair.

Thanks Guys!

I hope she gives me a good haircut and one that fits me.

Good luck Joonie...you got alot of good advice here.  I have also always found that paying a little more for a highly requested and very experienced stylist is more than worth the money. I have alot of hair that is very heavy and doesnt hold curl very well. I end up with cuts that grow out in 3 weeks, or styles that require super-glue like products to hold them in place when I flake out and go to the "fast-food" salons. My daughter has naturally curly hair and we have to pay extra to get people who know how to cut curly hair too.

I use Visible Changes, which is a chain in TX but I am not sure if they are national. But they have different levels of cutters based on repeat customers and time with the company. So you know exactly what you are getting when you go in.

Good Luck! I hope your cut is fabulous!!!

A new cute style is exactly what you need. If you never get your hair cut and it's only to your shoulders.....that's a sign you need a cut!!

I get mine cut above my shoulders every so often just for the change and before I know it; it's more than grown out again.

It will life your spirits too. Hair is hair.....and I'm sure if you get some of that weight off the bottom it will make the top look fuller.

Take some before and after pictures and post them after you go.

Good Luck!!

Well Joonie???  How's it look?
