Anyone been on it or are you still on it? Please let me know how it worked or didn't work for you. I'm getting very discouraged and hate taking the side-effects of the antibiotics.
Wow - I was just checking into this. I can't take the other meds and my doc said I should consider the antibiotic therapy. Do you know of any sites other than the roadback org??? Not to be tooo nosy but just how bad are the side effects??? I'm going to search the site for info and see what I can find. Hope you feel better soon and someone can answer your question instead of asking you questions.
The side effects I am experiencing is sun sensitive. I mean I can't even stand outside for more than 5 minutes without feeling really horrible. Also, my teeth are getting discolored from the antibiotic. This is a new development and I am going to ask my Rhuematoid doc when I see him next. I did research it and it is a common side-effect with possible permanent discoloration! ICK! Another side effect that bothers me is drinking alcohol. We are in the wine business and I can't even drink a full glass of wine without feeling bad. (Real bummer is a glass of wine would help ease my pain)
Now the antibiotic therapy my doctor has me on is doxycycline 100 mg. 2x a day and than every 2 weeks I have to do 5 days of Flagyl. Hate that one! Can't even have a sip of wine on that!!! It's such a heavy duty antibiotic is makes me feel like puking the whole time I'm on it.
I need to post something about Flagyl to see whom else is on it!
My b/f has crohn's and they but him on flagyl all the time. (it's more of a safety than anything for him) He does fine on it. I didn't realize it was supposed to have side effects? What happens to you? I've even taken it before (though it didn't do anything) for an infected eustation(sp??) tube. (The tube that drains your ears...you know) I don't recall any side effects either? I'm interested.
