Anti-CCP Test - Aggressive Form of RA | Arthritis Information

I've read several articles now that are making the point that a person's Anti-CCP blood test may be related to the aggressivenss of that person's RA.  The higher the value, the more aggressive the RA. And if you are high in both Rf and CCP, then more correlation.  I was 95 on RF and >250 on CCP and I feel as if the RA is aggressive - I'm still only about 2 years into it, but the pain and stiffness is getting worse rather quickly.  What is everyones experience? What is your RF and/or CCP and how aggressive do you feel you RA is?

I'm not sure how much stock I put in these test. I've always been seronegative and mine started out termed "moderate". I'd agree with that assesment. I've had RA now for over 12 years and just over the last probable 4 years has it become harder to treat.

I do however know many here that are "seronegative" and would definately be considered "Severe". On that same note; I know some here with very high numbers on their blood test and they have mild symptoms.

It's always confused me to no end.

My Rheumy also told me the higher the anti-CCP the more progressive/aggressive the RA is.  My anti CCP was 69 (anything greater than 60 is considered strongly positive).  My RF was 168.2  I'm not on any meds right now because I had some high liver enzymes.  I'm doing o.k. so far, but my feet are beginning to bother me.  My enzymes are back to normal now, though.  I see my Rheumy early next month.  I'm going to try to hold off until then.
