I always get nervous before having surgery. Tomorrow I'm having my lt thumb worked on. The same surgery I had on my rt hand earlier. They're fusing the middle joint, removing a wrist bone, taking a tendon from the forearm and using it to stabilize the base of the thumb. They clean out the arthritis and drill through the bone to run the tendon through it and then wrap it around. The good news is I go home the same day. I have a splint for a week and then into a purple cast or maybe blue.
