Humira - catching a cold - need advice! | Arthritis Information

Hi everyone I hope someone can answer my question. My husband has severe RA that was diagnosed last year. He's 54. He took his first Humira shot and is due for his second one tomorrow. The problem is, I came down with a cold right after he had his first shot, and it's been very stressful trying to keep the house germ free, etc.! I even slept on the sofa when it got bad. Needless to say, now he is starting to show signs of a cold. Not serious, just a stuffy nose. Should he take his shot? I hope some of you have had this situation and can tell me how you handled it.  We will call the doctor's office but they take forever returning calls.

He wants to take it regardless because he is in SO MUCH PAIN he can hardly stand it. He just wants to get relief. Any advice would be great.

I continued taking Enbrel through a sore throat. I recovered after a week or so, it took longer than it normally would. Next time I saw my Rheumy I told him, thinking he would be glad to know I recovered and that it hadn't taken forever, just a week.

He glared

Needless to say, I don't take TNF inhibitors while sick anymore.

How long will it take for the doctor to get back to you? You could put the injection off a few days. . .
