I have been on Arava for 3mths now, since last night I feel the flu coming on....stuffy nose-heavy chest- tickling throat...I can't find any info on if I should stop Arava while you have the flue..I thought I read somewhere that in the presence of infection you should discontinue until recovery...thks you all ..great site for ra
I am wondering the same thing. I got sick and called to see if I could take Nyquil or something. The dr. suggested I call the pharmacist. The pharmacist suggested I call the dr. I am so depressed. I don't know what to do either.
When I feel a cold coming on like you are I take those zinc lozenges called cold-ease. Quite often I don't catch the cold.
I continue to take the arava until I'm sure I have a cold... then I lay off it until I'm better. I usually call GP for an antibiotic to prevent the secondary infection I tend to get with a cold.
beccy as far as I know any of the over the counter cold meds are ok with arava. The pharmacist should have told you that.Can you take over the counter meds with Enbrel Marian? I am starting that one tomorrow... Hope to stop Avara.
