Been Sick | Arthritis Information

Hi everyone!  I had posted before some reservations about taking pred and I want to thank everyone for their great suggestions and kind words to me.  I unfortunately did get very sick again from taking it and landed in the hospital with a viral syndrome.

The last week and a half have just been he** and hopefully we will be turning a corner shortly.  My husband broke a toe (he is a welder so he got a week off of work), I got pneumonia, my daughter sprained her ankle pretty badly and is on crutches, then I got VERY sick.  I think I just paid for my docs kids college education!

I am just glad to be home.  On bed rest again for the next couple days but at least it is home.  My dog is glad I'm back too.  He hasn't left my side and even walks me to the bathroom, waits for me, and walks me back to the couch lol.

Hang in there!  I had pneumonia once and never want it again.  It just zaps any energy you may have.  The breathing IS important!  Did you just stop the pred all at once?  Isn't that dangerous?
Hope you are feeling better real soon! Oh! I was wondering where you were!! :( I'm so sorry you reacted to pred that way! That's AWEFUL! Don't take methopednisolone. That stuffs even worse. Ick. :( Glad you're starting to feel better! Vicki's right, pneumonia SUCKS. I used to get it all the time. :( Did they give you an inhaler?? I hated those! I'd always end up getting Bronchitis at the same time, and by the end of it all I'd have 3 inhalers and 3 or 4 pills. Ugh! Soooooo glad to hear you're better! I missed you! :)

Thanks!  Yup yup inhalers.  But that's cuz the pneumonia decided to stir up my latent asthma that disappeared when we moved to AZ.  Now it's back!!!  Just something else in life to deal with, heh.

The pneumonia sucks and still tired from it.  But I have kids and hubby to do stuffs for me lol.  Well, it takes some nagging but it gets done!  LOL

Glad you are doing better now!

Yes, go with breathing first. Always a good decision. I complain to my doc about using inhalers because they make my heart race. He always said, "I think we need to keep you breathing." But what an ordeal. Pneumonia does take awhile to get over. Don't expect to have any energy for awhile.

Glad you are out. Your week sounds like some of mine. Made 2 trips to the ER for my daughter, 1 to Urgent Care for me for Bronchitis, 1 trip to the ER and 1 to Urgent Care for my son who broke his collar bone. Yes, I love weeks like that.

I'm glad you got a doggy to watch over you.

Gramm~I'm sorry Sweetie. I didn't realize you'd been sick and I'm really sorry to hear of it. I sure hope you've seen the worst of it and are well on your way to recovery. Do as the doctor says and rest, rest, rest!!

P.S. Can you figure out how to increase your font? I must admit I skip the majority of your post because their difficult for me to read. My eye site isn't what it use to be....and sadly it seems to be getting worse!

Glad you're home and feeling betterWhat a week!  Ack!  I,m glad to hear that your on the mend though!  Love and hugs!Jeez, it sounds like you had quite an exciting week! Hopefully
you'll stay out of the hospital. Did you have someone rent some
good movies for you to watch?

We have ON Demand so we don't even have to go to the video store lol.

Thanks everyone for the well wishes!

Deanna my inhalers make my heart race too.  I hate it.  But we have to breathe in order to post lol.

So glad you are home in your own beddy-bye!!!
