When you switch over from a medicne like embrel to another, what do you do with the leftover boxes? Do I need to give it back to the insurance company?

Marzapan39018.4437615741I've wondered this seeing as I have a months supply of Arava that I can't take.Unfortunately... I think you pitch it. Unless you know someone who can take it. I'm sure your rd would be able to use it to help another patient without resourcesMy insurance company told me to pitch it, once the pharmacy turns it over to you it is considered unusable for anyone else, because there is no guarantee that it was stored correctly or contaminated or whatever. Billyws is right, it is a terrible waste of incredibly expensive medicene to throw it away, the insurance contact finally said, all I can tell you is the company wants you to throw it away, you can do what you want.

That's what I was hopeing! My grandmother was just laid off from work, so my mom and I are going to give it to her.
