Hi!!! I talk, what do you want to talk about? Im 18, dx with JRA at 8 years old......

Hi it me again(Marzapan), I am using my old username, I like it better!

I am 14 and was dx. at 7. Just talk about stuff, even if it has nothing to do with JRA, I dont care! We just need to get this place TALKING!!

We usually just post on the regular RA boards, but I know I
check this one every day, so if someone posts, I'll answer. Okey doke, soooo makemelaff, what sort of stuff do you do for fun? I dance and sing, dancing can be hard, but I love it, and im not stopping just cause it hurts....alhough somthimes I dont go when I hurt too much.....
Whats meds are you on?
For my joints im on prednisone 5mg..MTX, Enbrel and folic acid, hopefully soon ill be off the prednisone!!!
How is school for you with the jra?
I did ok with middle school and high school, college is harder for me cause of the lack of sleep and soooo much walking, but im dealing with it!!!

Hey Makemelaff

I was diagnosed late at 15, now I'm 18. I love to do gymnastics... tumbling is my passion! It hurts alot as well, but if its what you love doing it you push through right? I'm in university too little mermaid, and i'm finding it harder than highschool. I'm living on residence instead of at home so my routine is a little different now. So makemelaff have you seen the movie stick it the gymnastics movie?

WOOOHOOOO gymnastics!!!!

I play Field Hockey and Softball. I am a goalie for field hockey, it is fun to dive and clear the balls and all that stuff. My mom and doctor dont think it is the greatest thing to  play, but if it keeps me going they are ok with that!

I am on Remicade, Lyrica, Folic Acid, Protonix, Tri somthing or other, and tynol3 when needed. Also when I go into a flare, they put me on prednisone until it is over, which sometimes take forever.

School, school is school, what is there to say. You go in on a bad day on crutches, and everyone asks you what happens, I just say its a long story, because it is!!HAHA! The other day, this one kid says to me, why are you on crutches one week , and off the other, then the next week you come back with them again, why? I just said, well, its hard to explane, I have JRA (only I said the whole thing), and when I am on crutches it is hard for me to walk; they help me. Like always they say, ohh I thought only old people get Arthritis! AHHH IT DRIVES ME CRAZY!! SOMEONE NEEDS TO INFORM THESE CHILDREN!!!!! I have already missed alot of school already though! I missed 2 days for the remicade infusion, and I missed a whole lesson in Algebra, and I have 3 tests and quizzes to make up! I hate 9th grade! I missed 40 days last year, and I am trying not to fall into that pattern again, but I dont know! School is so stressful!!!! Does/did anyone have the same problem??? It is driving me up a wall, I never look forward to going anymore!! I miss so much, I always have to explane my situation to everyone. I tried to keep it a secret in the middle school, but that didnt work, maybe the high school!!!

thats a lot of school missed. I try really hard not to miss, i miss for doctors appointments but i go to school unless i have a fever no matter how much my joints hurt....they hurt at home too so i might as well be hurting in class, maybe not always the best idea but i hate missing school, I missed 2 weeks my senior year in a row and boy that was fun catching up.......but i managed. you will figure it out, talk to your teachers so you can get work emailed to you and stuff!I was in the hospital for a week, and had to stay out a week after. I was also out a week for an asthma attack. I was very sick last year, and believe me, I did my best not to miss as much school as I could. I hate this! I hate it, I hate it, I hate it!!!!!!! makemelaff2239021.6406828704

I'm 16, from London and was dx at 18 months. It went when i was nine, and came back this summer :( i have JIA in my knees elbows shoulders "sticky" hips, neck and jaw. My ring finger on my left hand flared up yesterday- bit of a bummer

Thank GOD for forums- i was beginning to think that theres no one out there like me, and it made me sad. my mum says we get things like this because we are special and because no one else could cope with it. i guess its quite true. i know this sounds wierd, but reading about all of your problems made me realise that im not alone in this. Megan, I didn't realize you were from England. :) That's where I lived when I had my best doctors! :) They were WONDERFUL, and did the most for me so far! I was only 4 though. LoL It's been a while! I miss it there...one day I'll get back to visit!Oh Megan! I had those splints! Oh hun I know you don't know me but PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE WEAR THEM!!!!! They are the only reason that I can walk like a normal person! They were AWESOME. I also had one for my wrist. I LOVED NHS Never wanted to leave. LoL I live way it the northern part of FL, so I miss out on disney :( It's over 7 hours away. WAH! My RA is in my hands wrists ankles feet knees elbows hips and jaw. What is your doctors name? I'm curious. :)
