I'm new to the site and to PMR having only just been diagnosed. Went from probable MS to PMR when I had a "miraculous" reaction to 20mg prednisolone. Doctor dropped me to 15mg but I'm afraid the thigh pain, stiffness and pains in my arms are back now. (Will ask to up the dose tomorrow).
Can I ask if anyone has had any neurological involvement if the PMR has not been treated for many years? I have had the headaches from h*ll, blurred vision, pain in my eye, burning sensations mainly in my feet and lower legs, numbness and bladder problems, to name but a few (hence probable MS). My optician thinks I may have optic nerve damage (retina is OK) and have been referred to an ophthalmologist.
Does vasculitis stem from untreated PMR (which could in turn affect the nerves)? Sorry I have more questions than sensible answers at the moment. I'm still in a state of shock from having a diagnosis after so many years and I'm still "wired" from the prednisolone!
