Well, I think it went ok. I had hubby inject it in my butt Friday night around 6pm. About 2 hours later, I was really dizzy, had the room spins and felt nausous. I sipped some flat Vernor's and went to bed.
Saturday I felt a little out of it but nothing too serious. I managed to go to the grocery store. I mostly just vegged in front of the tv. Sunday I was really tired and napped a lot.
Today, I'm not so tired but have had some serious diarrhea. I'm prone to diarrhea anyways so not sure if its from the mtx or not. I took percocet and an Imodium and feel a bit better.
My hubby has a tummy of steel but he had some really bad tummy cramps and diarrhea all weekend. He was wondering if maybe he absorbed some of the mtx? I drew the medication up and he just jabbed the needle in and pushed the plunger. I put the band aide on and wiped the counter with Lysol so I don't think he could have gotten exposed to any but what do you guys think?
Should I be on the look out for any other side effects? I did notice a big clump of hair in the shower drain last night but I would think it would be to soon to see any hair loss yet?
I think you are really nervous. I know it was such a big decision. I also have diarrhea after taking MTX, especially in the beginning. Maybe he's just nervous too. You seem awful close.
The tiredness afterwards is definitely common. The napping is good for you and will help refresh you.
I don't know about the hair loss since I never had it as a big problem. Someone else could speak to that.
When does this tiredness go away? Does it leave?There is a nasty stomach bug going around. I barfed for a solid 36 hours and so did my hubby.
relax... unless he was snorting the MTX to clear his sinuses he didnt get any in his system.
Just remembered my Doc said the MTZ shots avoid all tummy problems. Maybe your diarrhea is from something else.Hey Deanna. Hope you are well
When you take your MTX, is it in tablet form or shot? I forgot to ask you.

Poof, I always get the tiredness. Maybe they can try a lower dose.

I also thought the shot was supposed to by pass all the gi upset so my diarrhea was probably just my usual bad tummy stuff. I'm still flaring pretty bad but I don't think the mtx made me any sicker or more tired. I did 1/2cc which is supposed to be equal to about 12.5mg oral.
