Havin Fun With RA’s Uglier Side... | Arthritis Information

I'm still wearing my post op' splint and will be for another month or two...so I had some fun with it.

I cheated a bit and obviously had to take it off to decopage the stamped images onto this baby...haha. My sweet DH attached the flower with some wire for me.

I thought those others who have to wear splints might appreciate something that isn't so scary looking. I tell you I get such a different reaction from people now then when it looked so mechanical. They don't know if I'm just wearing it for fun or not...LOL. Yeah right!

Here are some pics... Splint
You are so rediculously creative! I was trying to picture it in my head before I saw it, and I wasn't even close! That's amazing! You should offer your skills to people with permanant braces and even wheelchairs! You could make a business of it :)

That is really fabulous. Thats how splints should come in the 1st place - decorated.

I really think stuff like this eases pain. For both ourselves and others - keeps the focus on the bright side.

Very creative!! That is awesome!  I love your creativity!

I'm jealous!!!!!!  I don't have an artistic bone in my body.  Great work!

I had a brace just like that one. I would have loved to decorate it as you did, but I don't have an artistic bone in my body! You, however, are VERY TALENTED! Loved your website!

Really nice....it's true, you could make some money doing that for other people...and kids would make you their hero! Thanks everyone. I had fun doing it. The flower is starting to look a little pathetic now, so it's about time for a new one.

Hmmm maybe I should look into customizing splints...LOL.

Well, I have plenty for you. (I think yours are boo-tiful!) Okay, two major wrist splint, two, computer wrist splints, two compression gloves, knee braces and cpap machine. The doctor wants to add the walker. Also tempted to wear an elbow brace.

What can you do for me Danea? I want to look real sexy for that imaginary prince I'm going to meet some day.

Totally loved what you did.

Wow, you should turn that into a small business to earn extra cash!  Its very beautiful!  LOL...well the therapist told me, when I mentioned how I was going to "alter" it, that she wants the metal thing back. I guess it was a good thing I mentioned it cuz she never told me that my first couple visits. I had really wanted to glue some crystals to those metal circle things...hahaha.

So I am kinda sad at the thought of it being ripped apart.

Now with that said, I had a request "top secret"(so I will probably have to kill you all now...haha) to some how have it feature it in a book, a craft book of sorts. Sssshhhhhh. It will be a minor feature, but I was still thrilled at the offer!

Deanna, how far are you from California, cuz I could totally hook you up girl! Anything that is hard, is totally alterable. Decopage is my friend.
