Hi, Im 47 and up until about six months ago I was fit and pain free (all be it a bit on the overweight side). Recently Ive been racked with various pains that are getting worse. I already have an auto immune disease in hypothyroidism so I have wondered if my symtems are RA. I have ongoing sharp pain in my wrists, fingers knees. My legs swell and they feel as if my skin is too tight. i wake up in the middle of the night with sharp chinese burn like pain in the knees, sholders and wrists. When i wake up in the morning I can barely close my fingers. The whole thing is getting me down as Ive stopped doing as much exercise and my job as a long distance driver (twice a week) and a freight unloader (3 mornings a week) is becoming harder to deal with all the time.

Any opinions on this welcome

regards Julie in Western Australia

sounds like you may have RA. Get blood work done and see a rheumatologist. Good luck to you.

Hi have you seen a doctor at all and told him your symptoms...if he is fobbing you off with anything just lay it on thicker and tell him you need something doing. Get some bloods done like the previous message

It took my 3rd trip to my GP to get him to agree to having a blood test. Now i have RA and AS

Goodluck i hope you get sorted

Best Wishes to you.
