Soooo.... WTF?! | Arthritis Information

I call my RD's office today to get an appt to see him for my arm. Remember I fell at the Portland Airport and the flat escalator aka moving sidewalk tried to eat me shoelace because it is was hungry for RA speghetti?

Well.... I call the receptionist says "It will have to be for the first week of Dec. He is out of town until then and he has been out of town since first week of Nov."

I then asked her about who I can go see about my arm and she told me a orthopedic, but they did not answer their phone. So, I called my PCP and I get to get it seen about tomorrow.

I also asked for a pred decrease as my face is really starting to break out again and that usually means I need to decrease.

Oh and here are some recent pics of me poor poor battered and beaten arm.

Oh my, that looks awful!  Ouch!!!!!!JOONIE! OMG! YOU NEED TO SEE SOMEONE NOW! I don't think that's normal...

Yeah... it does. But it does not hurt. It is just starting to feel a little numb and is still warm to the touch around the area of my elbow. So... everyone wants me to go get it seen about. Damn going to the Dr.... nothing good ever comes of going there.

Oh and I cannot raise my arm straight up above my head without my the arm where my forearm is feels like it is going to pop out of place, because it is not being supported by something

Katie- Im going... Im going... tomorrow at 4pm.

Oh yeah... I postponed going to get it seen about, because I was waiting on the swelling to go down. Nothing worse than your elbow being swelled and then them wanting to put your arm in funky positions to get an x-ray of it when your arm will not bend into them funky positions.

joonie39029.4635069444 Joonie!!!  Please let us know what the doc said.  Oh my goodness!! That looks terrible!!!! I hope everything is okay!         My hubby was in Austria for the Air Force last year, when his
group went to Munich for Oktoberfest. Well, to make a long
story short, he took a spill down a flight of rough stone stairs
(not drunk, he said, HA). Months later when he got home, his
right butt cheek STILL was bruised worse than your elbow. He
didn't go to the doc for a long time, and ended up needing
surgery to remove a tennis ball sized lump of scar tissue. He
now has a big lump again from the surgery. Moral of the story, if
he would've gone to the doc in the beginning, they could have
drained the blood out a couple times, instead of him having
surgery.

Looks really bad. Much worse than your previous pictures. Why, oh, why didn't you go to the ER?

Yes you can dislocate your elbow. I've done it! The same one I broke and didn't know until 4 /5 weeks later.

It really looks awful. Hope it is just a massive bruise. I'm glad you are going to get it looked at... I should have had mine looked at.

Deanna - because I do not have 0 to pay for the out of pocket cost to go to the ER. I did not want to fool with the medicaid part as I was unsure of if it will cover it that 0 or not and I did not want to get stuck with having to pay 0 and our hospital likes to send bills a month over due to collection agencies and I did not even want to fool with it.

I am sure my elbow is ok... I can move it around good, but still have some problems, but not sure if it is joint damage from JRA or from the fall, as it was my bad elbow that had limited extending. soooooooooooooo....

Popcorn!

joonie39029.7921875It's the word!

Yep... I am good at word of the day

OMG that looks horrible! I broke my arm when I was 7. It never was swollen or bruised and ended up being broken in 2 places. I really hope yours isn't broken. Like you, I was able to move mine for the most part as well.

Urgent care? Hey, I understand about the ER bills. Been there, am there, will probably be there throughout the rest of my life.

Your health is important. But you are seeing the doctor tomorrow. But for future, find out if Urgent Care appointments are covered. Sometimes that can be so much better than the ER, with shorter waits, and lower copays.

we do not have urgent care where we live. it is ER or wait it out for dr appt.

well, that does suck.....I guess go for the popcorn then.

Ok... popcorn it is

Mmmmm popcorn sounds so good.  We are going to a bowling alley tonight to watch the company league bowl.  I hope they have popcorn.

get extra butter!!!!omg do you know whats in that butter? UGH. Justin used to work at a movie theater, we're not allowed to EVER have butter on our popcorn....LOL

no what do they put in the butter?

well theres no butter in it. lets put it that way. its fat and food coloring and flavoring and starches and other non-normal things. LOL

aww... that sounds perfect for all of us RA'er's as we are non-normal anyways

Joonie...have you been icing your elbow? not cupcake icing...ice...

Noooo... Nooooo.... Ice ...NO! I do not do ice. Now cake icing I do do

Ice kills me... makes me really really stiff and hurt. But I would not know how my elbow will react as I have not done it to it

Fear... fear...

I am melting... meltin... melti... melt... mel... me.. m.. ....................
