Productive Day | Arthritis Information

I have not been driving because of my hips, knees, not knowing the town and pain pills.  My sis in law who lives 45 minutes from me was so wonderful.  She came down this morning and we ran errands all day long.  I got my labs done, I got my walker (which I love btw even though I don't know if I will be brave enough to use it in public) a cane, paid bills, grocery shopped and bought Kelsey a rat

Got home and Brett called right away.  He got my letter and agreed with all of the points I made to why I could not live with him if he drinks again.  I admit, I am feeling a bit optimistic.  I guess there is a new treatment.  He is going to get a monthly shot that effects the part of your brain that releases the chemicals they make you crave in addiction.  It is supposed to make him repulsed by his addiction and make him unable to get high.  Pretty amazing.  It cost 0.  I am so grateful for our good insurance.  I hope we can keep it.

You should see my walker.  It is pretty snazzy.  It is a burgandy red with a comfy cushion chair and a "trunk" for belongings inside the chair.  It has brakes and all kinds of places to put things.  It was the nicest one they had.  Thank you insurance again.  It feels so good to use it but I don't want to become dependent on it.  I am also afraid if I use it too much, it will ruin my posture.  It is so hard to accept you need a walker.

Tomorrow my only goal is to go swimming.  When you find your camera cord, you'll have to show us pics of
your walker!

Rats are cool!  We have an albino one.  If you want any info on how to take care of yours and how much fun they are send me a PM.  They are incredibly trainable.

Please let us know how those shots work out for Brett.  I may want to look into that for my daughter.

Can PT help you with using the walker so your posture isn't ruined?

Ohhh, your walker sounds snazzy!

THe shots sound really interesting as well, I hope they work out well.

*hugs*

Sounds very promising. Still waiting to hear about my walker. I am really glad to hear they might have a treatment for Brett. It would be wonderful if this relationship could be salvaged.

I understand about the negative thing. Answer is that allowing people to talk about an illness helps them heal. It is a matter of being tough. Then stating as kindly as possible, the main reason some people don't talk is that they are so afraid a person that care for won't understand.

In RA, talking is really, really important. Maybe you can ask her to share some of her feelings about seeing family members go through it. Might take awhile, but she might open up.

Glad you got alot done today....I know you feel good about all that you were able to accomplish.  The shots do sound promising...so glad to hear that things may work out for you and Brett.
