Night sweats | Arthritis Information

Hey guys, does anyone else have problems with night sweats?  I've been having them quite a bit lately, and I wake up just drenched from head to toe.  It's not due to hormonal changes, that I'm sure of.  And it's just started recently.  I had them when I was first diagnosed 6 years ago, then they went away. Now they're back Is this a symptom of RA or Fibro?  Any ideas?

Cris,
I think I had them some with MTX.  What meds are you on?

I'm on Enbrel and Elavil.  Come to think of it, I was on mtx when I had them before.  I wonder if it's the Enbrel causing it this time.  I just had my second shot yesterday, and the night sweats started within the past week.  Hmmmm.

I had the night sweats just before I was dx'd and still on occasion will get them but not like before....I have not heard if Prednisone causes this.

How frustrating this is

stared on hormone replacement  therapy (aCTIVELLA) about 2 yrs ago AROUND I the same time I was diagnosed with RA and Fibro.  Didn't have night sweats then but I have had them alot the last year.  I think it is the pain medication but not sure.   aNYONE ELSE HAVE THIS PROBLEM?I asked the doctor about the sweats.  I have them during the day too.  I can be walking in a store and all of a sudden I feel like my blood is boiling!  The doctor said it is a symptom of RA.  Susan

Could be caused by a light fever. Fevers are a common enough symptom of RA. I get feverish normally before a bad flare kicks in, my doc says its just another RA side-effect.

I get them too...but I don't think quite as bad as you're reporting Cris.

I'm sure my doctors would chalk it up to a symptom of early menopause in my case.

Cris,
I never got them until my fibro dx.  They are part of fibro I know.  I did typically run fevers as a kid with JRA, in fact my normal temp ran 99.9-100.2.  But the sweats started after fibro and continue today.  We thought at first it was just being preggers but they've never stopped.
