   Hi,
It's been some time since I last posted. Things have been busy and upsetting too.
Have started my out patient PT and I hurt from it. I'm not sure if I'll be able to keep going to the sessions. I have no money coming in and my savings account is shinking fast. I'm going to have to let my housekeeper go as I can't afford it.
Yesterday, I got this letter from the place that does my bloodwork. The insurance won't pay for the bloodwork that was ordered by one of my docs. So I have a ,000 bill to pay. Ouch!!! I have a co-pay for my PT and also for my doctor visits. Then on top of it, I have all of these meds co-pays.
My roomie is being very nice to me and I know that he's up to something. I'm waiting to see if he's going to give me the full amount of rent that is due. If he doesn't, I'm giving him one hour to pack up his clothes and leave! I've had it with him!
He uses things and won't replace them. I've taken to hidding things in my room. I'm tired of being the one who buys all of the paper products, spices, dish soap, etc. I ask him to help me do something and he will blow me off. He wants people to help him but he won't help you!
I don't know what has gotten in him but I don't like it. Try to talk to him and he rolled his eyes at me and said,"yea, yea!" I found out that several of his friends are very upset with him. My money is tight and I can't put up with his BS.
Sorry, that this turn into a rant. I'm trying to get myself well enough to be able to work and it's hard when you're worry about if you're going to be able to pay your bills.
   Thanks for letting me vent.

No need to be sorry it turned into a rant.  That is what we are here for!

Maybe PT is hurting because they are working muscles that haven't been worked in awhile.  Maybe call your therapist and talk to them about your pain level and find out if what you are feeling is normal.  If your pain level is too high, they can most likely adjust your PT.

Ouch on that bill!  I hate it when those sneak up on you because you never know what insurance covers and what it doesn't.  I owe 461 to my RD for an ultrasound guided cortisone injection.  10 bucks a month is what they get til its paid off lol.

Sorry to hear about your roomie troubles.  Maybe he has some issues going on that he isn't telling anyone about that is affecting how he has been lately.

I hope things turn around for you quickly!

Marisa, that is horrible. You've been through so much already in the last few months. I cannot believe your roomie.

As far as the bloodwork, try and see if they will forgive it. Most of my medical bills, I'm paying a month on. That still hurts and I don't know how long I can do it. If not, sometimes it is better to let it go to collections and they will sometimes work more with you.

First see if your doctor can get the bloodwork paid for. They sent you there and often they can work out what you can't.

Maybe a new roommate would help. But I remember you saying that it was awfully expensive to live there.

Have you applied for public assistance? In some cases, they will pick up your last three months of medical bills as well as pay for continuing medical care. Also, explain to the PT about your problem. They may be able to work something out.

Try Catholic Familly Services or Jewish Family Services in your area for help with rent and utilities, even meds. Salvation Army too. Remember, it is a temporary situation.  I keep telling myself that.

Also see if there is a state Long Term Care agency that helps people that are close to needing nursing care to get help to stay in their homes. With all you've said in the past, you probably would qualify. The one in AZ, which turned me down, helps with housework, home modifications, and medical care.

The other resource may be through a disability organization in your state. Also, check the web site for your city under disability and senior services. Usually things are listed there.

I hope thing improve.

Someone else had an issue like that a while back - a big unexpected non -coverage. I think she talked to her DR office about it. They really ought to warn you when a test is not likely to be covered, especially when it involves a 3rd party like a lab.

She ended up not having to pay most of the bill.

Does anybody remember how that got worked out?
