Enbrel Sure Click | Arthritis Information

My daughter just started Enbrel pre-filled syringes and found the needle to be very dull and painful. Are the Sure Click needles thinner and less painless? I use the sure click and i dont think the needle hurts at all, its more the burn from the actually medicine. I cant even feel the needle!I was using prefilled syringes for 2 months before I was able to get my pharmacy the code to order the sure click.  I like the sure click much better!  It is much faster, and I swear sometimes I dont even feel like the needle went in.  I would recommend the stomach.  I have never tried the leg, but woah!  I heard it hurts more in the leg!!  Good luck and let me know how she does with it.

i have arthritis .and i just started enbril.i am so worried about the side effects and i want to know if it works

if i could be able to run one day

plz some body tell me if this medication really works

how long does it take to get better
As you probably know from reading posts here and elsewhere, everyone is different.  For some, Enbrel helps immensely and for other it doesn't seem to do anything.  The difficult part, is even if an arhtritis medication is going to work for you, it may take quite a while to "kick in".   It's hard to be patient when you're in pain!!  According to the information I got with my Enbrel, it can take anywhere from two weeks to three months before Enbrel becomes effective.

Personally, I've been on Enbrel for almost two months.  I've noticed some improvement.  I was first diagnosed a little over a year ago.  My doc put me on Methotrexate almost immediately.  For me that helped immensely.  He just recently added the Enbrel, and I think it's helping some.

I can do quite a few things I couldn't last year.  I now go over to the gym and work out three or four times a week.  For some reason in the last week, I've gotten comments from several different people about how much better I seem to be getting around lately.

Hope this helps--
dordale Enbrel has worked wonders for me. I noticed a difference hours after the first injection. But who knows about the long term effects, particularly the lymphoma connection...

The timing of my first 50mg sure click Enbrel shot coincided with my sixth week of taking Methotrexate.  I'm not sure which medicine kicked in, or if it was the combination, but within 48 hours of the injection I feel soooooooo much better.  I have more flexibility and have my energy back.  Thank God!!!  Yippeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!

Does anyone else out there have Ankylosing Spondylitis?  What meds work for you?

I was on Enbrel sure click 50  for 4 months  got very bad injection on finger...hospiualized for 5 days and nights   2 surgeries on finger....was off of it for 6 months fighting the infection....started back on it ; was on for 3 weeks when feet and legs swelled terribly; and have bad headaches...called my rh dr   she said stop the Enbrel....it's a shame because it really helped me immediately; now she wants me to start Humira; but I said no thanks.....no more of these drugs for me...I'm going to try herbs and exercise and meditation...good luck all...God bless

I am on Enbrel for about 3 months.  I used to use the pre-filled syringes.  My Rhumie gave me a blood test and my sed rate went down.  So it seems to be working.  She said it would take about 3 months.  I'm now going to start the Enbrel Pen.  In fact on Friday I see a girl in my Rhumie's office and she'll show me how to use the pen.  I was taking it once a week, and now it will be twice a week.  I do feel it makes it more managable.  I'm just so glad I found out what was wrong with me.  It took my new Rhumie to finally diagnose me, and I've been like this for 17 years.  by the way, I also have Fibromyalgia.  Good luck to you all!!   God Bless

I think the SureClick's are a wonder. I would find it hard to actually push a real needle into my skin, but the pen style clicker makes it so easy. I'm sure you've heard somewhere to make sure to take it out of the refrigerator at least 30 mins prior to injecting so the medicine isn't a stinging feeling (cold medicine - warm body). I'm not 'fat' but I found the only real somewhat 'painful' thing was actually pushing the SureClick into my skin hard enough so the needle would click out. I kind of concentrated more on that little bit of pressure/pain than that actual needle going in. (oh...definitely inject in stomach with the SureClick - doesn't hurt as bad as other spots from what I've heard)

Hope that helps!

Sarie  Yeah, the sex thing is HUGE. I, too responded very well from Enbrel. It has been a reawakening!
I've had 7 doses of 25mg Enbrel so far. I haven't noticed the needles that come on the prefilled syringes being dull, it doesn't hurt, but I do bruise something awful. It always makes me feel worse the day after I take it, does it do that to anyone else? I'll feel fluish, run lowgrade fever (I do that a lot anyway) but the worst thing by FAR is the nausea that goes along with it. I get kinda dizzy too, it's hard for me to work, I just want to lie down. I am getting very discouraged about this disease. They say that sero-neg people have an easier time, that it's not as bad. I suppose it could be a lot worse and that I should just count my blessings. Hopefully it'll all kick in soon. :)

I am new here.  I just started googling "enbrel pen" and found this site.  I've been on Enbrel for about 5 years.  I actually was a trial patient before it really came out.  I have JRA and I've had it now for 22 years (since I was 2).  I've tried every drug available and nothing has ever worked except Enbrel.

It's amazing to me the things that I can do that I used to not be able to do before taking Enbrel.  I went ice skating last week for the first time.  Before Enbrel, if I went roller skating, I could not walk for an entire week!  So, I'm pretty excited about that.

I'm waiting for my next prescription of the enbrel one shot injection pen.  I'm too chicken to give myself the regular shot so I'm hoping I'll be able to do this one on my own.  Anybody out there used it yet?

I have had some dull needles w/ the 2x a week dose of Enbrel, but nothing I can't put up w/ for the wonderful benefits I have from it.

I was recently diagnosed with ra and was put on predisone which within 3 days I felt like a new person.  I also started methadrexate at the same time and as I was reducing the predisone the joint pain started to return. Obvioisly the methadrexate was not working alone. I started to inject Enbrel in Nov, along with the methadrexate. I just started the 5th week and have had no relief yet. How long does it take to kick in??  I also am expiencing flulike systems the following day and ache like crazy. Any answers???DON'T USE THE SURE CLICK IN THE LEG. PAIN PAIN PAIN PAIN PAIN!

i'm 17. i was diagnosed with AS about a year ago. i'm tough when it comes
to pain, i've never cried from shots before .. but i could not stand the
sureclick! i had only tried it in the leg before switching to the multiple-use
vials (that means i have to mix it myself). i don't feel it at all now. i mean, i
know thats tough for people who are sensitive to seeing needles, and maybe
the sureclick really isnt that bad if you don't put it in your leg ... but i'd
definitely start with the 25mg syringe first... but thats just me.

good luck with whatever you choose!

isaI receive my first shipment of Enbrel next Tuesday.  I am really nervous.  I then go back to the RA dr's office for instructions on giving myself injections-ugh. At this point, I don't know what to think.
