One Christmas about 1999 or 2000 we were at hubby's family get together and all us young adult were throwing around this ball of aluminum foil. Hubby's grandpa did not like that we were throwing it around and tried to make us stop, which most of us did, but there are a few rebels in hubbies side of the family

Here it is everyone is cleaning up and the ball of foil is found once again! They start throwing it at each other and trying to hit each other in the head. Grandpa sees this and starts yelling.

He says "I have seen a buiscut knock a guys eye out! Now stop throwing that ball of foil!" Well, one of the rebels of the family thought it would be funny to smack grandpa upside the head with the ball of foil LMAO!!! It got confiscated by grandpa and threw in the garbage. Some of them thought about digging the ball of foil out of the garbage and continue to throw it around.

Later that day, me, hubby, sis in-law and mother & father in-law were discussing what hubby's mom's dad aka grandpa said and we have decided that the buiscut most have been made out of quick-crete. MIL still refers to the buiscut poking someone'e eye out when she overcooks hers LMAO!!

Poor old pawpaw! Ive got a grumpy granny...she and my very laid back grandpa had a huge house and all of us kids, grandkids, greatgrandkids were there for my g-pa's 80th b-day and christmas. My husband....who she didnt like b/c of his tatoos (stupid right?) decided it was time to liven things up one night. He took my 19 year old cousin and the two of them went and bought several sacks of boiled crab and raw oysters, and lots of beer. That night all 30 of us were gathered in the big den with my dad, uncles and grandpa at the bar shucking oysters. We ate, drank beer and bonded like friends. Grandma stayed out of the den, but every once in a while she would come in and look around with a frown on her face, then retreat to the kitchen.

It was great, and grandpa had a great time too. I was like back when I was a kid and he and my uncles would boil crawfish. Then they would dump them out on the table and peel and eat for hours. My uncle used to chase me and my cousin Michelle with live crawfish.

This night that we had (5years ago) was a great memory...especially b/c my grandpa who was a very active guy had a devestating stroke 2 months later. He was bed bound for 3 years before dying of CHF. My last memories of him before the stroke are of that night.....we were partying coonass style!

Sorry to hear about your grandpa.

I have witnessed many deaths....his was the most peaceful and beautiful that I could have imagined. He was on hospice at home and all of us were there, holding his hands, stroking his hair, telling him that we loved him when he died. He waited untill we were all there. Even my cousin who is a marine and had just come back from Iraq. It was like birth in reverse. I am sorry he is gone, but he was truely a prisoner in his body and he was miserable. He wanted hospice, and it was a good choice. I am gratefull for the wonderful christmas that we had with him. My daughter was 4 at the time and she did her dance from her recital for him (costume and all) to "all I want for christmas is my 2 front teeth" It was adorable. You know I dont like to be around lots of family around the holidays because they create to much drama and I cant take it am I the only family with that problem

Well, no drama at Thanksgiving, which even surprised my mom that my sister did not show out. Was kinda disappointed about it. Oh... but she did get pissed that her plastic bowl got melted

Looks like most of my family is spending Christmas with hubby's family this year. As we invited my mom & oldest sister to our get together. So, they decided they did not want to travel an hour away this year and just go down the road about 10 mins and spend Christmas with us. I bet that will get the ball rolling on the Holiday Drama around here
