Hi everyone I'm new to this RA stuff. Do any of you get pain that may only last for a day or so. Then it will move to another area. Im on methorxate and folic acid ,celbrex it seems to be helping some only been on it for 2 weeks. That's how most of my RA pain is. I can usually bet on about 24 hours of pain then it's gone.
Yep That is RA.
Kelly, I have been trying to email you and it comes back undeliverable. Will you pm me your email addy again. Just want to send along some funnies.
Yes, where have you been lately Kelly? Haven't seen you post much.
Yes, RA is a ravaging, moving monster that likes to awaken different parts of your body. Ever once and awhile one or two of my toes like to make an announcement "Me too! Me too! Me hurt too!"
Like shut up already, you little annoying things. Somehow my toes think that they can compete with those larger joints.
Truly, RA moves and plays with your mind.
OMG! YES! That is how my RA started....I thought I was crazy, b/c I didnt even know what RA was....wrists, fingers, knees, toes, ankles, sholders, elbows.....you name it, it would go there. It was the worst when it would all occur at the same time. Now my pain, since I started meds, is usually constant and dull in my fingers. Every now and then I will fell normal, and have none. It was so discouraging though when it would hit in my ankles, and I had trouble walking. I hope those days dont come back....
Chin up....just because its there today, tomorrow will be a new place that is possibly easier to handle...
I've been here...just not saying much lately I guess. Been keeping myself busy thoughWow, I'm glad you guys were talking about this, cause it makes me feel a little less crazy! When I was describing my symptoms to my GP I told him that one day I might have a toe aching horribly and then the next day it's my shoulder that's hurting. He said that doesn't sound like RA, because once a joint is inflammed, it's inflammed. I guess that's why he's a GP and not a rheumy! AMEN!
Yeah, GPs don't usually know that much. You might consider an Internal Medicine doctor as your GP in the future. They have, I think, 4 more years of schooling.
I wish that more GPs would get educated on RA though. I think a lot of people suffer and are untreated for much longer than they should be just because GPs aren't trained to recognize the warning signs. Plus, a lot of them think that if your blood work comes back normal then that's the end of the case. Those of us who've been at this a while know that blood work is only a passing indicator and not the final clue.
My rheumy told me it was called palindromic arthritis and that it could develop into either lupus or RA. It would go all over, from my left index finger to me right knee to my jaw, etc.I've had this dumb disease since 1999 and it continues to move around my body. When it hits lots of places on the same day it's really ugly! Every morning is a surprise.
Can you imagine how awful it was for the folks who got this before there were appropriate drugs to at least try to treat symptoms and delay progress?
