I was just curious to see how many of us miss Vioxx. I certainly
do!! I took it for 6 years with no problems. It worked so well for
me and I was ticked that they took it away. My RA doc feels
that it was totally unnecessary to remove it from the
marketplace. I felt that we should at least have been given the
option to use it if we choose. ( Kind of like cigarette packs that
have the warning on the side.) Anyone else?
I want my vioxx back!!!!

I was one of those people who had a problem while on Vioxx, but,,,, I miss the heck out of it!!! That was my miracle drug. I felt like the tin man on The Wizard of Oz after he got his oil. I was all loose as a goose after being on Vioxx for just a day or two. It was great. I think they should give people the option of taking a drug if they want to. Test the drug, find out what the side effects are, but let us ultimately make the decision. I probably would have stopped but I know at lot of people would have continued to take it without any problems. I take Humera now and I have felt great so I am thankful that I found a replacement. Although this is not as good as that Vioxx.
Hi,
I just read the post about Vioxx and "How many of us miss it". Count me in on the side of "missing it"...When I was taking it, it made me feel almost whole again. It was like a wonder drug for me. Now I am on Bextra and not at all happy with it.
I also was glad to hear mention of Mobic. I was thinking about going off Bextra and going on that...What do the Mobic user have to say about the drug? Looks like my next drug of choice may have to come from the Biologics, which seems to be a hard one to decide on, as they all seem to be very competent drugs.
Hope everyone is having a GOOD day and looking forward to a nice weekend...
Hi Oma2,
I have been on Mobic since they took away my vioxx. It took about 4 weeks for it to really start to work. I was ready to give up on it, but my RD said to hang in there and I am glad that I did. They said that there could be side effect, but so far I haven't had any. I hope that it works for you as good as it has for me. Just remember not to get depressed when it doesn't work right away. I would rather have the Vioxx back, but for me this is the next best thing.

I miss Vioxx. A lot. Bextra made me moody and Celebrex justAdd me to the list of people who miss their vioxx. I'm on mobic now and it is ok but not nearly as good as my vioxx was.

I was on Vioxx for a little over 1 year back in 2002. It was the first nsaid that really provided any real relief. Since then I've gone through just about everything, Mobic, Celebrex, and none of them have really worked. So yes, I miss it as well.
I only took it for 2 weeks just to try. I got them from a friend and I thought they worked good. I too think it should be a personel option to take or not, with Dr.'s support.Ptoblem is it took care of a lot of problems that other drugs couldnt make money on if people used them instead.
What ya gonna do.
I miss Vioxx too! I'm on Mobic but can only take it on alternate days because it irritates my stomach. As someone else posted, I have some Vioxx saved in case of bad flares.
From what I'm reading and hearing, Celebrex and Bextra may be taken off the market too. What are we gimps to do?
