I’m Back from Vegas | Arthritis Information

Hi everyone.....  Missed you all!
Had a wonderful time.....  the video poker was kind to me on my birthday, but the 2 days that followed weren't as good... but, it was fun anyway! My sister and I saw Barry Manilow in concert.  He was great (and I'm a big fan, but don't tell too many people that!)
The problem with Vegas is the walking......  You have to walk everywhere.  I see that I may have triggered this RA by doing too much.  My knees are really sore, my toes are swollen most of the time, and in the morning, my hands are sausages.  I think it's because I have been weaning down on the prednisone, was at 6, but when I was in Vegas I took 7, just in case.  Now I'll try 6 again for a couple of weeks, but I'll call the RD anyway and report in.

I go to the cardio guy tomorrow for that stress test.  So, no coffee in the morning (which will stress me more).. they put an IV in with this cardiolite fluid, and other stuff.    It takes 4-5 hours and I'll know the results on Friday.  I know that all is okay with the heart.  No more pain in the chest lately.
I'll post some pics of us when I get them from my sister, so you can see how much fun we all had!
I'm glad to be home in my own bed now!  Glad you had a great time in Vegas! Let us know how the test
goes tomorrow. Good luck!

Good to have you back, and good luck with the cardio guy.

Glad you are back and had a good time!  Don't you have a doc appt to be making?  Hmmmmm?????  Yes gramma........ I do have another doctor to call!!!  Will do that after the darn cardio guy!  One thing at a time...whew.
By the way, I thought of you this weekend.... me and my sister had plenty of skittles on the airplane and in the hotel!!!  Grape and lime are my favorites Crunchy.... the walking is killer...  I can't handle that very well!  But most of all, the crowds in the casinos brought up my stress level!
I will be going to Buchart Gardens in Victoria, BC next month, and I know I will have alot of walking there too... but I'll be more prepared... I'm packing my Uggs! Didn't you just go somewhere, right before this?????? O.o I'm confused. LOL Glad to have you back though! I always miss you! :) I'm telling you.....get a freaking hover round and have a mexican soup it up. LMAO I'm gonna do that with mine....

I've been to Vegas twice since having RA and I agree...the walking is a killer.  But such a fun place.

Glad you had a good time...looking forward to seeing some pics

Vicky,  I always wanted to go to Vegas.  It is like everyone has been there except me.

BTW, if you go to Vancouver BC, you have to come see me.  I am not far.

I'm glad you are having fun though. Hate Vegas, was married that. Kind of ruins the experience for me. But it is fun the first go around.

Now, going to BC, that sounds interesting.

You guys are funny!!!  Yes, I'm a gad-about!!  I should rest for a while tho, granddaughter coming next week for Thanksgiving!
Can't have coffee this morning, or even an excedrin for my blazing headache cuz of the darn stress test.. that stresses me more!  I'll let you know the outcome!

Vicki,

The most stressful part of the test is actually the word "stress" in it. The chemical stress test just feels funny going through your body. But you are laying down. Have a shot of strong whiskey feels about the same.

They may take pictures and do all these readings and if there's a problem, they are already prepared for that.

I've had several now. Hope the results are good. I think it's good that you are doing things that you love. I just have to give you a bit of grief because I'm so darn jealous.

I went to Sedona (John Wayne movie country) for the weekend a week ago. Hate to admit it, but my husband rented me a wheel chair. I was really surprised and then mad when I saw it in the car trunk.

I started in on my DH about it and he said, we are going to walk all over Sedona, look in every store and gallery, the only way you can do that is in a wheelchair. Do you want to look around for an hour and a half and spend the rest of the time in the hotel room trying to recover? No he says for me - we got stuff to see and you are not going to be hobbling in pain - you are going to enjoy it. Besides I already spent the money!

I felt like a fake in that wheelchair

Tell your husband that he has two women mad at him now. Not really. If they can't get me mobile with knee surgery and some further treatment, I'm for it. I am so tired of not being able to get out. It that means a walker, a jazzy chair or a wheelchair, then fine. Just get me out and about again.

Vickilee, Glad that you had a nice time in Vegas and I found that taking the tram that runs down the strip and over to the Las Vegas Hilton saves my feet. I can relax and look out the window as we travel to the next stop. I can ride it for a day.
Hope that your stress test goes well.
