I went to the GP for my shoulder today and got a shot of steroid, plus a pred-pak and some lunesta yay! and a refill on my pain meds...rhuemy only gives me 30 with no refill....hello! GP gives me 60 and 2 refills. It makes my life easier...Anyways between my drs visits monday and today, meds, and parking....I have spent 170 bucks. And I have really good insurance. I dont how you guys without any coverage get by. I just dont even understand it. The worse off you are, the less money you can earn, the more you have to spend.

I dont want to fool with pt again. I hate going. I dont mind it once I am there. It is just getting out and driving there and having it eat up 2 or 3 days a week. But she said shoulders...wait a minute....Deanna are you listening to this???

"Shoulders have a way of locking up very quickly if they are not being taken through their full range of motion" And I believe it because even after just a few hours of not being able to move my shoulder, my entire arm was beginning to cramp up. I had to force some motion, even though it hurt like hell at first. The change of position did finally give some relief to the rest of the arm.

But this shoulder thing sucks eggs! Hands or feet I can handle but a shoulder or a hip makes you just useless.boooohooooohoooo

I know how you feel Crunchy.  Half my problem with appts. is getting there.  It makes me so mad I don't qualify

I think the weather is throwing us all for a loop!

LOL You're so brutally honest. I love it. I'm currently dealing with back issues, and it's starting to hit my shoulders, so keeping in mind what you said, I'm going to make sure I don't baby things TOO much. Thanks. Glad you got some answers though, I know you were starting to get more that just a little annoyed with the pains. Hehe. Relax and you'll get better! You're a tough cookie!

Everyone keeps telling me I am strong and tough...I am not at all strong....I swear I am gonna fall off of the wall like humpty dumpty at any moment and then no one will be able to be able to put me back together again.

One thing I have been doing that seems to help is I take a pain pill and lay on the heating pad. Then after about 20 min, I use my good...ummmm....better arm to help raise my jacked up arm up over my head...I let it rest there for  a minute. After that I bring it out to the side and down. I do that about 3 times and it gets easier each time. Then I rest for a minute and do it again.  It does help...the bicep loosens up and it feels better for a while.

But it doesnt take long to get stiff again.

CRUNCHY,
LULLABY AND GOOD NIGHT....OHH I LOVE MY AMBIEN.  LUNESTA WILL WORK WELL FOR YOU TONIGHT... THEN MAYBE TOMORROW YOU CAN HANDLE THE 'WIPING ISSUE'!!!  THE SHOT SHOULD KICK IN AND YOU WILL FEEL MUCH BETTER IN THE MORNING!   WHEN MY SHOULDER WAS LIKE THAT, IT WAS AT THANKSGIVING A COUPLE YEARS AGO, AND THANKGOODNESS FOR MY SON... HE TOOK THE TURKEY OUT AND CARVED IT!  MAYBE THIS YEAR, I MAY HAVE TO HAVE ANOTHER REASON TO HAVE PEOPLE WAIT ON ME!!!

yep i remember those days, of the frozen shoulder, and soooo much pain to do anything with it. About died washing my hair, I was stand in the shower and cry, and then hubby would hear me cry and wash my hair for me, but I was crying for a combo of things pain, fear of causing more pain, and not wanting to ask hubby to wash my hair for me. Sad but true. Good thing my frozen shoulder was mostly my left one, because I am right handed.

Glad you are doing a bit better, hope it improves so no PT. I do not like PT, I always hurt more after PT and those damn ice packs

I had a hell of a time last night washing long thick hair with my left hand. I am right handed...it was not easy at all. I think the shot and the pain meds are working well right now. I am gonna take half of a sleeping pill in a while. I want to rest, I hope the pain wont wake me up. Does it help you sleep through the pain.

I hear ya about the amount of money for doc visits and scripts.  I just added up what we spent in the last 2 weeks on scripts and doc visits.  200 bucks.  And we have decent insurance too.

The shot should kick in fairly quickly for you.  At least I hope it does.  And I hope you get a good nights sleep with the Lunesta.  Not getting sleep sucks so badly.

Is there anyone in your house or a friend that can come over and braid your hair for you?  I have the same kind of hair and my daughter will brush and braid it for me.

hahahaha...I did manage to pull my hair in a scrunchy bun...you know the sloppy college student I dont give a crap look? I have completed it with big baggy PJs and my geek-chic glasses. I look fab!i am really horrified that you all have to pay so much. it just doesnt seem fair. I have no insurance but all my humira injections dont cost anything . our countrys health system pays for them. i only pay a small cost for a prescription from the pharmacy for pain medication. I claim disability for my RA and have a car on disability due to mobility problems. its seems that it costs you to suffer. it really isnt right.how do others if they dont have medical insurance. They don't. I don't have health insurance. I don't go to the doctor. I try not to get sick. From what numerous people on this board have told me, I probably have a couple other problems right now, and I should probably be on medication. But I can't afford it. This country is really confused when it comes to healthcare. I think at one time, it may have worked. (I sure wasn't born yet though...) But now, it's just a pathetic excuse. People petition, and lobby for change, but so far it seems to fall on deaf ears. Hillary Clinton is running for president......if Bill and her stay married, I may vote for her, with the hopes that what Bill is doing right now, will carry over and somethig may actually be DONE about the state our medical system is in. Hopefully. We'll see. That's still another 2 years away. Always waiting....ugh.There are just so many problems that need to be worked out....I hope there is a solution out there soon. It does add up though...Katie...doesnt your job offer any medical insurance?
