Has anyone out there taken remicade infusions with methotrexate? If so, please give me your experiences with this drug. thanks so much.hi miko, I had my second remicade infusion on friday, and my doctor said she might want to put me on methotrexate with it, but I have not done it yet, sorry. She did say though that the remicade works better with methotrexate then alone. Good luck!
hey miko, I've been on remicade for about a year now and I have tried the methotrexate with it but I had to be taken off of it because it was giving me horrible stomach problems, but of course chances are it probley wont have the same effect on you. I would give it a try if I were you because it seemed as if my arthritis was doing better when i was taking the metho with it. I hope whatever decission u make works for you. God bless you!Hi Annie,
Sorry it took so long to reply back. I tried taking Remicade and methotrexate, but ended up severely vomiting and high liver enzymes. After that, I developed a blood problem. My blood seemed to get better, but now I found out that I have antibodies to my red blood cells. I don't think I'll go back on it.Just had my second infusion of remicade (I weigh 107) and didn't have any negative reactions. I also take methotrexate (samll amout 2 per week) No problems with this either as I've taken it for 10 years. But, the down side is nothing great is happening either. Had to up my prednisone from 2 (my doc asked me to try to reduce), to 3! Much swelling, stiffness this morning. this is such trial (and error!) Good thoughts.
