Finally, some positive results | Arthritis Information

I saw my rheumy last week, and he said that my disease activity is under control.  I was absolutely elated.  I don't have to go back for another four months.  I had an office visit just about once a month for the last year, since I changed doctors and started to see this rheumy.  I have to continue my meds, Arava daily, Remicade every six weeks, and Relafen twice a day, but it looks like things have stabilized.  I told the doctor that I feel great, although I still have some pain and stiffness, and he said that can still happen.  But, it hasn't been anywhere near the level it has been in the past.  The doc said that of course he would love everything to be gone, but a 70% improvement makes him happy.  Me too!

A note to those who aren't happy with their doc:  change!  I saw one rheumy for over two years and had no improvement, mostly from the doc being unwilling to modify or increase any of my meds because he said "my arthritis hasn't declared itself", meaning he didn't know which inflammatory arthritis I had.  My new doc started adjusting my meds from the beginning and did everything he could to control my inflammation and pain.  I can't thank him enough.

Glad to hear it sterling!! Hope you keep improving!

YEA!!!

YAy I love to hear stuff like this. Especially since I am at the beginning of getting my RA under control. I am so happy for you Starling! hehe

Hi Starling, I am wandering if this is someone that I might know. Do you live in the middle of the US? And do you have a great mother in law and she watches your daughter? If so I beleve we may know each other. Please let me know

Woohoo! for you starling, There's hope yet then!

STARLING, YOU ARE AN INSPIRATION TO THE REST OF US THAT IT CAN HAPPEN!  GOD BLESS AND GOOD LUCK.

Starling this is fantastic news!! I'm so happy to hear this.

I'm also happy to hear the advise you gave the others. That's excellent advise. I see an RD who is very much like yours. If one thing isn't working we don't wait too long before we make some changes. He's never been the "wait and see" type. We don't have time for that kind of attitude my doctor says.

I'm so excited for you Starling; now don't run off on us now....your knowledge is still very much needed here.

Lovie

This good news elevates you to the status of elder statesman. Oops, elder stateswoman.Thats great news.

No, Starling you are not the person that I thought you were. It is nice to meet you. But you are not the person that I thought I knew. Sorry, but like I said it is always nice to meet someone new.
