So, hubby and I spent Friday and Saturday making the 12 hour drive to PA to visit my family. After 30 minutes in the car, my back always gets very tense and I get bad headaches. This usually isn't a problem, because I can sleep while hubby drives, but last Friday hubby decides to throw out his back. We didn't want to delay our trip because we were only going to be in PA for 3 days. I called my dad and he gave us a good idea. We have a power converter for the cig lighter in the car. We took that along and plugged in the heating pad. We took turns using it coming up the road. Now it wasn't a cure, but it definitely kept me from getting as tense as I usually do. I know a lot of you will be traveling over the holidays and maybe this might help ease the discomfort a bit!

Good idea RASara.

I'm also getting a picture of John Candy setting the car on fire while Steve Martin was sleeping in Planes Tranes and Automobiles (a great thanksgiving movie). Not that the heating pad is going to catch fire, just remembering a funny movie.

Glad you guys made to PA ok, and I hope you both feel better for the trip home.

Ummm... yeah.... DO NOT tell my hubby about this. He will go out and buy all that just so he could be warmer while driving.

But cool idea

We used to have a Peugeot that had the best heated leather seats.  Oh they felt so good.  That was the only thing I liked about that %&*@ car!

How was the visit with the outlaws?

What a great idea! I would never have thought of that! Hope you have a good holiday.  Safe travels home.

Rasar: Hey, thanks for a great helpful hint! Our vehicle has leather seats and no seat warmers. Though I feel pretty great sitting for extended lengths of time still bothers me.
Am going to check out Amazon and a couple of other links to purchase a converter - no way am I going to deal with holiday shoppers!!  {{Have a wonderful Thanksgiving}}-Take Care-
I LOVE THAT IDEA.  Driving is very difficult for me and my best remedy is heat.  Thanks Sara.I liked it too even if I am in Phoenix!
