I am a newbie...I was diagnosed in 2001 with RA...when I was 45 years old. It has been a roller coaster ride for sure! I live in AR with my husband of 30 years. When he lost his job 2 years ago, I lost my health insurance and can't find a company to insure me.
I was wondering, I have been having alot of pain in the muscles under my shoulder blades....and was wondering if anyone else does. I take MTX, prednisone, mobic......I am looking forward to the discussions here and hope to learn alot...since I can't see a rheumy any longer, hope you can help me with some questions and we can support each other! Hi Rochelle Welcome! I'm very recently diagnosed (October) and I'm one of the younger ones, too, at 47. Had symptoms on and off for several years prior to diagnosis. Went as far as GCA and neuro symptoms before my GP made the diagnosis after the good reaction I had with prednisolone. WRT the rib pain, I have had costochondroitis which is an inflammation of the cartilage between the ribs and the spine or breastbone. The pain was so bad I ended up in hospital! I can't say whether this is what you have but this disease can manifest in lots of ways. I hope your GP can help out. You may need a slightly higher dose of prednisolone to get over this flare.
