Weird Butt Syndrome | Arthritis Information

Well, I don't know how else to describe it. I've been have all this pain and tremors throughout my body. Today, I was standing and washing dishes which hurt my hips and back. Then, I laid down on the couch to rest.

I would have sworn someone had put one of those electric buzzer (but set on low) underneath my tail bone. It didn't hurt. But it sure felt weird. So, I'm officially naming it, "weird butt syndrome." Now, how do I tell my doctor about this one?

You tell your doc exactly how you said it here.  There have been times where I thought something was realy weird and my doc knew exactly what I was talking about from the way I described it.

Deanna, it sounds to me like the prolonged standing may have caused some swelling around some of the nerves there in the tailbone area...I know there is a bundle of nerves there cause when I was in labor with my daughter I had "back labor" which means the babys head is tilted and putting pressure on the nerves right by the tailbone. In that situation, the pressure is so intense that it feels like the tail bone itself is about to shatter from the inside out...hence the term...'back labor"....you forget about the contractions in the front cause the back hurts so bad. SSSOOOOOOO....you probably have some swelling there and that will cause that feeling almost like you are getting a slight jolt of electricity. The solution? NSAIDs, and an icepak, and rest on your side. Hope that helps!
