when you take hte pills it takes a while for them to work - about 10 or 12 weeks i think. when you take the injection does it work straight away?
Anna_uk, I know just how you feel I started the injections last week. And I slept almost 4 days. I felt very sick like I had the flu to and I had stomach pain with it and had trouble with my muscles hurting bad. I had my knees tapped and cordisone put in both. One feels better the other still hurts right now my wrists and knee hurts the worsed and sholder. I take my injection this tuesday again and I am hoping I feel a little better and not so sick this time. I rather not take it if it's going to make me feel so sick . I know RA is bad infact I hate it. I don't know if mtx helps right away. But hang in there. Maybe you need some predisone to help you threw it for awhile. If you can't take the pills ask your doctor or rhemy for a shot of predisone. I don't sleep much these days but I deal with it. i am hoping you feel better soonHi Angel
its horrible flaring .. one minute everything is ok with the meds .... next minute flaring and you think its never going to be ok again .... im on pills at the moment, but my first injection is 4 december... i've been on the pills for two years so im hoping the injection wont make me too sick ...
I hope you feel better soon, methotrexate definitely works but for me the pills worked so slowly that i didnt notice i was feeling better until i suddenly realised i was much bettr

I am just coming out of a nasty flare and it took me 3 injections (they are weekly) to feel better. That is also with the 2 humira injections (every 2 weeks) that I also do. And the pred. It is just individual how well meds work for us. The injection is absorbed faster into the body. Also more of the medication is absorbed versus the pills. What dose of mtx are you going to be on? It is important to also be on folic acid. My doc upped my folic acid dose also. Speaking of meds...I better go take mine before I get yelled at.... Hi Gramma, i take 15mg weekly... doc tried upping the dose to 17.5 but this didnt work for me ... got lots of nasty sores that wouldnt heal on mouth and hips so ive had to g o down to the 15mg which seems to be my max dose of methotrexate. .. which is why im being moved to the injection ... not yet on any biologics yet. &n bsp; anna - uk londonpostambl
anna_uk, I hope it helps you to. I know what you mean about being sick. I hate it to. My stmoach has been on a whrill. and today I am dizzy and I don't know why. I am always so tired
