Geeting my hair cut in 1.5 hours | Arthritis Information

I posted a few days ago about how much of my hair if falling out from the mtx.  Its LONG, really long, past the middle of my back.  It looks great if I spend an hour on it but thats happened liked twice in the last year.  I usually let it air dry and pull it back.  I think I'm going to go pretty short, mid neck to maybe shoulders.  If there is 10 inches there and I believe there is, I'm going to donate it to locks for love.

I'm REALLY nervous.  I've let it grow so long for the last couple of years because I haven't been able to make a decision about it and my girlfriend came to my office with hair magazines and we picked out some pictures and she made the appt for me at 3pm today.  Just do it, right??!

Send me some happy thoughts and I'll try to post a few pictures in the next couple of days!

Though I do understand your frustration as I have hair past my bum, I just wanted to let you know that I have a beautician wash, dry and braid it once a week and take out the braid for nice curly hair when going out the following week until wash day again.

Just a suggestion as I hate to see you cut it since it took so long to grow it that long.

Take care,

I think it is wonderful you want to donate to Locks of Love.  That is such a generous, loving thing to do.

There are so many cute haircuts now, spend some time looking on line and find something that you really like and print the picture and take in with you.  I always said when you can't change anything else in your life, change your hair!  It makes you feel pretty and gives you a boost.

I know it is hard to cut it when it's long - I've done it a few times.  Hair is a replenishable resource, it will grow back.  Ask your hair stylist about Nioxin products.  They were recommended to my mom when she lost her hair due to chemo for breast cancer.  It really does work - so much that I bought it for my hubby whose hair is thinning.

My oldest son reinvents himself every couple of months.  Sounds bizarre for a guy, but hey he's an actor!  He has actually shaved his head on 4 different occasions, usually because he has over bleached it, dyed it, or cut it in a way he doesn't like.  He does the same thing with facial hair - different kinds of beards, sideburns, etc.  Bottom line is, it's fun to change your look and never has to be permanent!
Awwww micheleb! What you're doing is SO sweet though! Think about the little kid or person whos going to get an awesome set of locks thanks to you. :) You can do it!!!!

I am sending lots of happy thoughts your way.  What you are doing with your hair is great!  Someone is going to be very lucky to have your hair.

It is amazing how much a part of our identity our hair is.  I look forward to seeing the pics of the new you!

Thanks girls, still VERY nervous!!  I have several pictures and a color sample.  Ok, here I go, I'll uupdate when I get back!

PS  The condition of my hair will eventually get me to cut it, it is hard to take care of like I used to.

14 inches cut!!!!!!!  Feels sooooo much better!!  I'll post pictures soon!!!! Big hair was out?  Someone should have told me that lol.  I have naturally curly hair and I am really too afraid to cut it short since I think I will look like little orphan annie.  Yea, Michelle! I know that was scary. (I have pretty long hair too, I can relate). I'm glad you like your new look. Nothing like a great new haircut to see ourselves differently. I'm sure you look lovely and chic. Way to go!
