Good luck - and welcome!

Hey Ya'll! Here's the scoop, I'm a full time student working towards an Associate's Degree in Physical Therapy. I graduated from Massage school a couple years ago but don't practice, hence the Arthritis settled in after school. Now, I've been on Embril since April '05 and although I've seen improvements, I still struggle from day to day. I'm afraid that in the long run I won't be physically able to perform @ either profession. & the thing that sucks most about this situation is the fact that I have felt a true "calling" toward each one (career)... Or so I thought. I feel stuck. I'm 22yrs young & never in a million years did I see this challenge coming. Any words of widom??? I'd appreciate it. Thanks what does   nsbp mean on my msgs sent to forum    I don't type this in it just appears almost on each msg....tks rose

Trisha, you're not the only potential PT dealing with this problem. You should talke to arriscolwell (katie). She's also been dreaming about this.

I will say this about being treated by my physical therapists. It is their knowledge that makes them good threapists. And, except for massage thereapy and being able to help frail patients, there isn't that much physical strength involved in the job. Plus, it is a really health environment to be in. You can talk your friends into massages and learn the latest techniques for keeping your body at it's strongest.

I will tell you this as a patient, that an understand therapist helps me be more compliant with the exercises and inspires me to try harder. I don't think this is a dream that you necessarily need to give up on and in fact may help you keep your own mobility. What you learn doing it is priceless.
