It's Dec. 1st, and I can't believe that soon the year will be coming to a end. I've been down for the past few days as I've come to the realization that things are going to change. I won't be going back to my job. Can't handle the heavy lifting. So I have to reinvent myself. I want to stay in the medical field but need something that requires less standing and lifting. Have something in mind but have to check it out before telling everybody what it is.

My new knee is getting stronger. I'm determind to be off of my walker. I'm doing more around the house. Swept the kitchen floor and picked up the bathroom. Today, I'm going to try to run the vaccuum. I want to put up a few decorations for the holidays.

PT session wasn't too bad yesterday. I rode the stationary bike instead of sitting on a chair. The leg bend toture machine is getting easier. The only bad part is the parking sitution. Had to park a block away and then walk to the PT place. I'm telling myself that it is good excerise!!! Now if only my back thought so too.

One last thing, my hands are hurting today. No swelling but joints in the fingers hurt. I think it from our cold weather. I know, Southern Ca. doesn't have COLD weather and that I'm a whimp!!!!

You are definitely not a whimp. I'm sure glad your surgery is behind you though. I thought you were going to kill yourself in some horror film shower scene. EEK!!!! EEK!!!! EEK!!!!

And then there was the scary roommate. Have you been able to get rid of him yet?

It's actually really good to hear that you can do so many things now. But life does take these turns. I suppose that they are for good reasons. But they sure are painful sometimes.

It is wonderful having you back online though.

Glad you are doing better. Hope you can get a desk job. Good Luck!!

I See... I am not the only one who thinks PT is torture.

Hi Marisa, am so glad you're up around and able to accomplish so much.  Good luck with the job change. Let us know how the search goes.  You've had lots of experience in central supply and instruments and hopefully something will come your way in the medical field.

I'm facing a TKR sometime in 2007 and keep putting if off.  Had my knees injected with Synvisc and hopefully I'll get 6 months or so relief.  Somewhat better but the spurs and bone fragments are still there.  You've been really brave to face this on your own. Don't think for a moment that you've been a whimp.  I'm not as brave as you.  I'm going to have a whole roomful of people around to torment with my demands!!!!! Also, was wondering about that roommate.  Keep us posted.
