Hello everyone well I have to start a diet ASAP.  So I have been slowly taking myself off the pred.  Havent told doc because if he found out we would have a problem.  I was diagnosed with RA when i was 23 and know I am 28 in those years my weight has gone up about 50 pounds.  I really need to lose this weight.

My best friend of 23 years is finally getting married and i have to wear a dress.  The last and only dress that i have ever worn is my sisters bridemaids dress and that is it. I dont do dresses im a pants suit kinda gal.

So does anybody have any suggestions that might help out if you do that would be GREAT!!!!

Thank you

Even tho I haven't been on P for years, I still follow some of the dieting habits I formed back then. Any low calorie munchies - have them all ready and available for snack attacks.

Switch foods. If you can't stop eating, don't binge on one thing - try eating something else.

When I was losing the pred weight, I loved diet Popsicles because it takes awhile to eat one and they're only 10 cal. Philly Swirl has very good diet fudge bars, 57 cal.

Keep a food journal but only if it helps! If you find yourself feeling depressed or

I also used a Calorie Counter book. I tried to keep my caloric intake to 1200 or lower.

When I was on prednisone I gained 60lbs in six months. It took me over a year to lose it all - and I was pretty strict about my diet.

Oh! And one more thing, tell your doctor. Don't let him scare you! You have a chronic illness, you'll be dealing with these nitwits for a long time, you need to learn how to handle them. He can make the transition off P much easier for you, and better for your diet! Be strong - tell him what's what and make him do his job.

I have been taking pred 15 mg for OMG lets see about 5 years know.  The wedding isnt till May of 2008 so it gives me a little time.  I have been trying to go to 10mg but I start to hurt and my ankles feel like they are on fire but have to get this over with.

That is a great idea to keep a food diary I should try that THANK YOU!
