Totally unrelated to RA...but funny anyways.
So earlier this year I joined the MOMs club international. THinking it
would be a nice way to meet some new people, and I had heard that MOMs
club does "baby sitting swap". Well, not the one I JOINED...but hey.
So, I host some playgroups every now and then, and try to make some
events....but I know i'm not going to join again next year, because
well, honestly...not to be mean, the ladies whom I have met so far just
aren't people I would normally hang out with. I mean, don't get me
wrong, I adore being a mother, but my life is not CONSUMED by my
children, KWIM? Theirs are!! ANyway
Since my kids are different ages, they have two different playgroups.
The baby's group meets on Tuesdays. I didn't offer to host the older
one, because I really didn't want 20 toddlers with germs...but i did
offer my house for the babies. No one ever got back to me. UNTIL LAST
NIGHT!!
I got an e-mail stating that playgroup is at MY house this week, WITH
my address AND a time!! (9:30am....woah...we're not up and ready to see
people this early!! lol) Umm....that won't work, caused I have my RD
appointment in the morning, plus I have to go get an MRI AND I have to
go get my armpit checked again. So, I send out an apologetic e-mail
stating I must have spaced out, and i'm having alot of health problems,
and I simply can't host tomorrow because I have an appointment with a
specialist that I can't change. Yadda, yadda. E-mail goes out at like
9pm (before my meds kick in, and I get stupid. lol) Between 10pm last
night ant 9am this morning, I received SIX RSVPs from people stating
they will be here tomorrow morning!!!
I'm kind of mad, but honestly, I think it's the most hilarious thing
ever. I guess I have things that are more important and that I'm
upset about this morning, that all I can do is laugh at the situation.
*sigh* And to think....4 of the 5 who RSVPed are ex teachers! *shakes head in amusement*
Thought y'all may get a kick out of the story...it's really funny.
Needless to say I will NOT be rejoining this group next year. (this
isn't the group thats coming over friday...thats a different
playgroup...I know, I'm insane, aren't I???)
On the bright side....I'm still hosting the christmas party
Friday....BUT, I have 4 ladies coming over on Thursday...they are going
to CLEAN my house for me, make DH and I dinner for Thursday night, and
do a bunch of prep for the party Friday. So, they may be a BIT snobby,
but I'm not complaining about them...I think it's incredibly sweet that
they offered to come clean my house and cook. Gotta love texas
sometimes!!!
How funny is that going to be when they show up at your door and no one is home lol.
Unbelievable!!!!!!!!!!! They will prob be really angry with you when they learn you are not there!
Have a good time at the party! Enjoy the little ones while they are young, they grow up waaay too fast....
