Ok I guess I now am peri-menopausal or something like that even though I am on an estrogen patch. Does anyone know anything about the "peri" part and has anyone been through this???? Eeew I do not like it at all! lol

O  M  G  !!!!!!!!!!!!!! I looked up the perimenopause thing...peri means pre as in there is more of this to come.....I had a hysterectomy when I was 21 and have been on patches since all types of Estrogen Replacement Therapy including pills and all till we found one that worked....now I still have to go through this??????........ah no I don't want to........YUCK!!!!!!!!!!!

...I cannot believe this..this feeling continues and even gets worse!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Soon my boobs will drop more and my hair with thin out...this just cannot be. I was supposed to find a guy to date first before all this, no man is gonna want a cranky, floppy boobed balding lady ....................

HHHHHHHEEEEEEEEEEELPPPPPPPPPPPP!

My gynocologist told me the "peri" part can last for 10 years!!! All I know is hot flashes SUCK

WEll maybe there is hope for me.....maybe there is a "good guy " out there that doesn't mind that I will be 50 and have all these perimanopausal "moments" lol

Thankyou all for your support...it is very much needed that is for sure.

Perimenopause and menopause can be a hassle. But you get through it and for most folks it's not too bad. I went through surgical menopause. Not fun. But once I got the meds, supplements, and so forth worked out, it's not something I think about much. There are many tricks and helps and you have to monkey around until you find what works for you.

I too thought it spelled the end of my youth, vitality, and the best of my womanliness. But now that I've adjusted, I wouldn't say that at all. I still look younger than I am, and my husband found me an apron that I love and hang in my kitchen. It says:

I'm Still a Hot Babe. It Just Comes in Flashes.

Now if he'll just find me something as encouraging about about gimpy RA babes!

RKGal LOL!!!!  I'm still a hot babe it just comes in flashes!!!!   I LOVE IT!!  I had a complete hysterectomy 4 years ago October (thank goodness) and I call my hot flashes "power surges" lol.

I have noticed that when I do power surge that I do swell.  Weird.

Now I just need to take out stock in Midol for the 14 year old.  No wait...it's me that needs the Midol to deal with her lol.

LAMENT FOR MY LOST YOUTH

Or

THE A.B.C. OF MENOPAUSE

                                          Anxiety attacks, arthritis and aches

Bunions and bones that might easily break

Corns that cripple

A Dowagers Hump

My eyesight's appalling - what a frump

Frigidity, frustration, my body's getting stiff

I'm a grey haired old grandma

With hairs on my face

A hot flush an hour

Irrational, illogical - my brain is like flour

I've jumping legs and a knife sharp tongue

That won't keep silent for anyone!!

There's the loss of libido - (but that's no big deal)
But the mood swings and memory loss are very real

Night sweats. Neuroses, all negative things

And Osteoporosis - what horrors that brings

I've pores like caves

I do pigheaded raves

I'm quick to argue and slow to praise

There's receding gums and rheumaticky thumbs

There's my squiddly little boobs and my sagging bum

I'm tired and I'm toey and I'm getting toothless

I'm up half the night 'cos in bed I'm useless

I'm a recycled virgin - I know my place

I've got wrinkles and whiskers all over my face

These extra lines just won't go away

No matter what the commercials may say

And yet, I ponder - there must be better

Ummm - Z is a very tricky letter

You see, my oestrogen levels were all up the pole

So I searched very hard, deep in my soul

I was tired of all the self-abasement

And now praise Science for Hormone Replacement

I'm also more content with my lot in life

And very, very glad I haven't got a wife

Excellant kiwilass! One thing is for certain...when my daughter (age 18) is in PMS mode and I am in Menopausal mode...it gets a bit iffy around here, scary actually. We have learned just to not talk to eachother during that time. I think it is one of those "mom/daughter things".

I absolutely loved the apron saying! Everyone here has helped me feel better about all this, which is a good thing because I was beginning to freak out a bit.

Ok, now that everyone has got  me to focus on more positive thoughts I will be better. I have just got to continue thinking positive thoughts, positive thoughts, positive thoughts......ect.

Nice work, Kiwilass
