Tummy or Thigh?
I've been on Embril since April'05 & ALWAYS have given myself a shot in the leg. Before the 'auto-injector' it was the side of the thigh; now, with the 'auto-injector' (about 3 months and going) the top of my thigh. I was wondering about maybe trying the stomach, but that kinda freaks me out I do the humira auto injects and sometimes a tiny drop of the humira will bleed out.
I have never injected in my tummy because I have a road map of stretch marks from my wonderful daughters! I always do my thigh and alternate them.
I do my Humira shots in my tummy, as I am still numb from my belly button down to my c-section scar from my c-section I had with son 2 years ago. I do not feel the burn until it gets pass the numb area of the tummy.
I kinda do not rotate sides on my tummy, because one side of my tummy is not as numb as the other side and I am afraid of the burn. But sometimes, I get up enough courage to let hubby inject me on the not so numb side.
Do not think the meds bled out when you hit a vein. Hubby has only done that to me one time in the belly and nothing happened... felt like every other time I got the injection.
I dunno...Liz...your crazy woman..I did the theigh once and it burned like fire!!!! I always did my belly...lots more fat there, just make sure where ever you go, you are rotating your sites!Giving shots in my stomach would freak me out a bit. However my legs dont have a whole lot of fat and now that I am on the autoinjectable it really hurts. I am thinking of going back to the do it yourself kind.
FORGET the arm!!! that's not even on my maybe list to shoot up!
Any place that you can pinch the skin to do your shot sub cutaneously (under the skin) is a place that you can inject. I prefer the pen because I want it done and over with lol. When I inject everyone in the house cracks up because I literally yell....OH YEAH FEEL THE BURN BABYYYYYYYYYYYYYY and make this incredibly weird face. Hey...helps me to deal with it lol. Crunchy....because I am crazy that is why you luv me sooooooo much lol. I'm your fav crazy cheeeeesehead lol.
