Nerve Pain?? | Arthritis Information

Hi,

I have a strange question about something that's
been driving me crazy. I usually have alot of pain
and a swelling, hot, throbing pain in my right knee
which I just assume is the RA, but the pain runs all
the way down my leg and across the bottom of my
foot.

Feels kind of like nerve pain in my foot., and almost
like my toes are being pulled inward..does RA ever
do aything like that? It's so hard to sleep. Nothing
brings relief. So just wondering if any of you have
experienced this.....Thanks. Yea, that's RA.  Do you have anything for pain?  I take 2 Tramadal  pills at night for pain, a 1/2 of Elavil at to relax plus use some Biofreeze topical gel I rub it on whatever hurts.  I got it from the chiropractor and it usually give some temporary relief so I can rest at night!   Good luck dear!

i sometimes get a burning pain in the inside of my right knee... it wakes me up at night, and sometimes makes my whole leg hurt. Sometimes it seems to give my leg a muscle spasm similar to shivers... its wierd... now the RD said i probably have OA in the knee. I have taken painpills ( tylenol pm and aleve) for the pain but it doesnt seem to help. one thing i have found to help is to ice the knee. I know that sounds wierd since cold usually makes us stiff, but the first time i iced the knee for about an hour then i slept through the night! i usually go to speel with the icepack (wrapped in a towel) on my knee and wake up with it next to me in the morning. Ill take that if it means no more burning pain!!!

Hope this helps!

Yeah, RA can effect the nerves quite a bit. Have that same pain running through my legs right to the toes. Feels like sometimes im about to lose my balance, especially with the left leg.

The worst is with my arms though, used to have very steady hands. Now they have a slight quiver to them. Doc reckons theres some inflamation around the nerves running into the hands which is causing this. So, Tara, nothing strange about that question, just another RA side-effect. Take care...
