Does MTX make you stupid? I used methotrexate for five years until about five years ago. I feel that it has made me stupider, even now so many years later. Particularly in the numbers and math department and memory, especially remembering people's faces. Anyone else or am I just making excuses for natural stupidness? Being on MTX, im assuming you have RA? Well, it has been proven that RA does cause problems with the memory and concenration - Brain Fog, as its known. So, it might not be the MTX at all, rather the illness. I'm stupid too blargady...and I've been on MTX for three years; at a a dose of 22.5 with Humira weekly as well. I was kidding about the stupid part; but I've noticed at times my mind slips. I mean I can be talking to someone and they will ask me a question and I will draw a complete blank. I'm also going through early menopause and on HRT so I contribute some of it to that. In fact I blame it all on the meds and the illness it's self. Hey; at least we've got an excuse, huh? Some people are just stupid and can't explain it!! Keep your chin up. Lovie I love you lovie!  Dont feel bad I cant remember the day before.  I will talk to my sister and go to ask her a question and draw a complete total blank.  I will sit and think and for the life of me I cant recall.  I forget so much stuff it drives my husband crazy.  I read him these post I hope you dont mind so he knows "see it does affect your memory".  I will take any excuse I can for being duhhh! I took MTX for approx 16yrs and I don't know if it made me any dumber, but I can guarantee that it didn't make me any smarter. Barb
