Hey,
I know that taking FA helps with mouth sores.  But,,,if I switch to injectible, will that eliminate mouth sores, or do you still get them with injectibles?
Thanks,
lori
Hope everyone is having a great day!

Where are my experts??????

I know you girls and guys are out there.  Help a mouth hurtin' girl out...

Lori

I don't think switching to inject able will help the mouth sores, just the gi upset!  If you are having a lot of mouth sores, see about upping the fa! I have never had mouth sores from the mtx.  I think Michele is right tho, the injectable helps with the GI upset.  And the other benefit of more of the med is absorbed by the body.  When I switched to injectable my rd upped my folic acid dose from 1mg to 2mg.

Thanks girls!  I knew I could count on you.

Lori

Don't know about injectables but when I started on MTX tabs developed mouth sores. Decided to push ahead, got a gel OTC from the chemist and drank lots of soup. It seems many of the side effects such as mouth sores, nausea, loss of appetite etc. go away as the body adjusts. Hopefully it's no big deal, more like a nuisance. Hope the sores clear up soon.

P.S. You said "thanks girls" Now, that's a bit off-putting so please, would you and some others not forget there are blokes coming to this forum or is it developing into a girlie only thing? .

I hope it isnt developing into a girlie only thing.  I like hearing a male point of view on all of this and if RA affects men differently than it does women.

Sorry!  Didn't mean to offend.  I was just thanking the two girls who answered me.  I love to hear men's points of view.  Keep them coming!!!

No, this is not a girlie board, we love everyone

Lori

I thought that might be the case, I'll stop crying now, thank you. Haven't heard of differences between men and women's RA experiences but what an interesting idea.
