Check it out!!! :)

This is a special one..and I am not just saying that cause I wrote it either....or cause it is my first one...come see for your self.Crunchy,
I am speechless. I read it aloud to my husband, who is in the
military, and always talking about how great that generation
was. My grandfather and great-uncle were both wounded in
WWII and my great-uncle helped liberate Buchenwald. Until my
husband and I were dating, I had never heard many of their
stories, because I never asked. My husband got so much out of
sitting down with my grandfather. They did so much for the
world, and too often are forgotten. They, too, need to be
remembered along with our present day heroes! Thanks
Crunch!

I am so glad you both enjoyed it...and thank you grdnlady for your comment on the blogspace...

My Grandfather was in WWII. He passed away 2 years ago and even though he wasnt one to talk about his experiences in the military, I know it affected him deeply. He did alot of art work and wrote alot of letters to my grandmother when he was in Japan that my Dad now has. When he died the most emotional thing for me was when they took the flag off of his coffin to give to my grandma. Whether they die on the battle field, or 65 years later in their own home, they are all fallen heros.

If you want to find out a little bit about WWII there is an excellent mini-series that includes interviews with some of the men that were actually there. It is called Band of Brothers. Even if you dont typically do war movies...this one will blow you away. It is incredible and the stories are true.
