Who has actually called those numbers on TV to help them get a chair? What was your experience and how long did it take?

Thanks joonie.I think you're blazing a road less travelled here Deanna. Not surprising, with you, but still I'm sorry if it might make you feel like you're sometimes alone on the front lines. We're behind you, but it would be better for you if there were some more out in front of you instead, wouldn't it?

I have never known anyone who has been able to get one of those scooter chairs for free. When my father became disabled in 1981, there was only one company that made them. I would call the number on tv and ask them how you go about obtaing one of those chairs.......

I would also try to find a Dr. that will listen to your symptoms. I know it is easy to say and I know from experience it is a tremendously stressful situation to be in because I have experienced trying to find a decent Dr. and trying to find an answer to why I am so ill.

A prof once told me...you are gonna be 90 anyway so you might as well be 90 and have what you need even if it takes you 10 or more years to obtain it.

RKgal, yes, in this I do not want to be leader of the pack. It is so frustrating because I've worked so hard not to get to this point.

Jode, you are right about what you said. I cannot begin to tell you how tired I am of applying for everything. I intend to rag on all the doctors involved in my care until something happens.

I really hate being told I "can't" do something. Tends to set the fire under me. But sometimes, I have to cry a lot first. Then, watch out.

I do feel awfully alone in all this. It's the people here and my daughter that are getting me through this.

First Place, in a race nobody wants to win..

We will be looking for you to show us how to do it with grace, wit and wisdom.

Deanna, the next time I see one of those commercials, I'll call them and try to get some general information for you. :)
